First time Tundra owner, and it feels soooo goood :bananadance:

Bought my new truck 2 weeks ago. Have been shopping for a couple of years tossing the idea around on getting a crew cab truck or a passenger 350 Ford Transit. I know they are completely different vehicles but for what I use it for they are used for the same purpose. To get me and all my gear and race bikes to the racetrack. 1000 mile day drives are the norm sometimes so I needed something to replace my 2006 E250 extended work van that was at 250k miles. I plan on keeping this truck for 10 years plus so I wanted something that will last. I am not going to lie I did test drive the new 2019 Dodge crew cab literally 1 hour before I went to the Toyota dealer and test drove a Tundra. The Dodge is pretty nice. The interior is very nice. The stereo is 10 times better than my Tundra’s and the stock rims are a lot nicer. But its still a Dodge.

I have a family friend that is a sales manager as a Toyota dealership local to me and since my wife just sold him a house for a steal he said he would return the favor. Went in to test drove a black Limited CM and I liked it. Told him I really wish they had one in white. He said he could get one or I can take a look at the Platinum they had in stock. I laughed and said the Platinum was out of my price range but I would take a look. For some reason the seats seemed more comfortable on the Platinum and it drove a little different. Maybe it was just in my head. After the test right I told him I would have to sleep on it like I do with any big purchase.

Ended up coming home with the white faster version Platinum the next day. Did some small add ons to protect it from the get go.

Clear bra, tinted windows including the windshield, console safe, dash mount phone holder, line-x to the bed and also the OEM dealer installed step bars, weather tech floor mats

Future small items I want to get are the color matched mirror covers and door handles and the blacked out emblems and tundra inserts for the tail gate, back seat storage under the seats. Down the road one the tires are worn out some nice rims and tires for stock suspension as I don’t want to lift it as it wil be a bigger pain in the ass to load a motorcycle in the bed if I don’t use my trailer.

Been lurking on this forum for the last 2 weeks getting a ton of ideas of what mods to do and what questions not to ask like how do I upgrade my JBL stereo system without replacing the head unit. haha

Welcome Steve. Platinum seats are reputed to be more comfortable. And, the Platinum has 20" wheels instead of 18s. If the first truck you drove was a TRD then the shocks are also different 'cause your Platinum doesn't appear to be TRD
