Just bought my first Tundra. 2020 Cavalry Blue TRD Sport Blackout. Such a beauty. Excited for the mod journey. Nice to meet y’all!

Very nice color choice! I did not know this color was called Calvary Blue. I never see this blue in the Toyota website. There is a darker hue of blue, like Voodoo but a little darker, Voodoo Blue, and then yours more 'baby' blue. I'm confused with all the blue colors Toyota offers haha.

 

Thanks man! Spelled “Cavalry” to make it more confusing. The Cavalry is pretty rare, probably as rare as VooDoo. I’ve never seen one in person actually, had to order this one. There were only 42 for sale nationwide and only 2 TRD sports, I like the fake hood scoop and color match bumpers. It’s a Tennessee Titan’s blue. Sharp and subtle, not eye hurting like the neon of the VooDoo, IMO.

The website shows Cavalry Blue as a darker blue because in the shade or on an overcast day that is what it looks like. It only looks bright/baby blue in direct sunlight. I love the way it seems to change it's hue based on the lighting.

It's spelled "Cavalry" because it is similar/based on the blue pants the Cavalry wear/wore. Check out some old westerns and you'll see a very similar greyish blue on their pants with a yellow stripe down the side. Lots of people misspell it as "Calvary" but that is incorrect. Calvary was the hill Jesus was crucified on. Not exactly something a vehicle color would be named after.

I came SO CLOSE to getting that color, but just couldn't pull the trigger on it. I like that color in the TRD Sport because it has no chrome anywhere on the truck and I think thats what makes that color look so sharp. The Calvary Blue trucks that my deal's have out here in my area are all TRD Off Road and that means chrome. I hate chrome thats why i went with the TRD Sport MGM color. Whatever it takes, right? I've got a Veteran buddy that was a Cavalry Scout, so that makes it much easier for me. Mom was a stickler for pronouncing things properly, too, so I do my best.

The Cav blue definitely goes better with color matched or black accents. I'm still working on my chrome removal. Only have the front bumper ends and emblems and it'll be a chrome-free exterior. Swapping the grille for a color match isn't too terrible, and if you plan to get an aftermarket bumper then you only have to deal with the shiny for a little while.

Lol, not sure why I said Calvary, those are the stuff in Sushi. Interesting, don't see how sun light would change it that much, I swear I seen another shade of blue in a Tundra. Unique color indeed.

 

Haha! I think in 2018, there was the blazing blue metallic. It was like a royal blue.

 

There have been a few shades of blue available for the Tundra over the years. Blue Ribbon Metallic, Blazing Blue, Voodoo Blue, and Cavalry Blue off the top of my head.

 

Just to show the way the color looks different in different lighting, here are pictures. These are all of the same truck taken with the same camera. Some are older so you may see some differences in the amount of chrome on the truck and different wheels.
