    2023 Sequoia TRD Pro
Hey y'all, just picked up my 2023 Sequoia TRD Pro in DFW area. Very familiar with Toyotas, most recently had a 2010 FJ Cruiser, lifted, armored up, and driven through many offroad trails between California and Colorado. Also have a 1981 BJ41 Landcruiser which I have been slowly rehabbing. Got rid of the FJC because the suicide doors and small back seat didn't work with 2 kids in car seats. Now starting to set up our new Sequoia for expeditions.

I know there is hate for the Sequoia redesign, and everyone wants to compare it to the 2G Sequoia, the new GH or even the 4R, but IMO it is an American Landcruiser. I don't want a Suburban-sized vehicle that fits 8 people plus a ridiculous amount of gear. I need a long-lasting vehicle with large tow capacity, Toyota reliability, and that can comfortably fit 7 people on occasion OR 2 adults, 2 kids, and a bunch of gear. I would have loved a Torsen diff, but my FJ didn't have it and neither does my BJ41, so I'm not missing anything.

3 weeks in and we love the rig. The new tech features are impressive, and the engine is a beast. I know it is blasphemy to the old V8 lovers, but the V35a has exceeded my expectations. Curious to see how it holds up long term. Already planning out some long summer camping trips and will be towing a 6000# dry trailer with 4 adults and 2 kids for 2000 miles-- we will find out the bottom mileage numbers.

Mod-wise, I don't plan to do nearly as much to this one. Need to find a cat shield/ skid plate that fits the 2023 Sequoia. Also need a load platform roof rack since Toyota stopped including them on TRD Pros. Other than that, will likely add some better lighting, maybe ditch LEDs. Once I run through these tires I will put on some larger ATs, and eventually a covert bumper and front winch.

    Anyway, that's me.
