I tried to order wiper refills, 85213-YZZC2-TM, and every online parts dealer says "discontinued" Are you seeing the same ?

You've been buying OEM wiper blades for the same trucks for 20+ years? I'm damn impressed

I put bosch icons on all our vehicles and we love them.

PIAA sells wiper inserts. They’re good quality too.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! And though I do like the OEM's, Bosch Icons have done me well also.

Possibly part number changed without supercession? Maybe look up the latest part number?

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/howto-use-the-toyota-parts-system-to-find-order-parts.113808/

For my '06 using that parts lookup resource, RH is 85214-0C012 and LH is 85214-0C012, specifically for the wiper. The entire assembly is RH 85212-0C012 and LH 85222-0C012. I specifically found those in the Electrics section, under Windshield Wipers subsection after searching on my VIN. I have no f'n idea where you got your part numbers from but mine seem to work and are 100% still available. Just don't be a dumabass and buy the parts on scAmazon or fleaBay, unless you really like knockoffs.

That said, I'll echo the above, Bosch Icons on all our Toyotas, and my MIL's Lexus, and my parents' Toyotas. After using Bosch's "beam" style wipers, I'll never use anything else. I'll pay 2x as much and get 3x the performance and 2x the longevity.

Have any truck pics or a story? Buying two first gens brand new is pretty neat.

I'd really like to replace the wiper refills with refills. They've worked well for 25 yrs now, and just personal preference, I don't want new blades if I don't need them. Toyota has changed the part number (discontinued, but the same product as a different part number for another vehicle) several times now. If I remember correctly, last time, it was for a Camry or Tercel or something like that, but then was "discontinued" again. Now, my local Toyota (Delaney, in DuBois, PA) just says Toyota no longer does any refills, but will happily sell me a new blade. I've still got the blade and little stainless steel ribs, so I only need a new refill if I can find it. A motorcycle riding buddy was just staying with me for a few days that has an even older Tacoma, and said he uses the ASLAM refills from Amazon with OK results. I got them and just put them on the truck (not tested in rain yet), but I don't like that they're the same profile all the way down. In other words, there's nothing to prevent the refills from moving in the blades/ ribs. I'll try to attach pics per earlier request (keep in mind, my first post to this forum, might not work).

Anyway, is there a part number for refills?

ASSUMING attaching the pictures worked, the first two are the Toyota refills, the last is the ASLAM showing the slight difference, which would keep the rubber in place.

    Thanks for any help.

Use PIAA refills but don’t buy them off Scamazon. My last set from them were old. I only buy from my local dealer (see their website for authorized dealers) now and haven’t had an issue.

The indirect answer is, sadly, three replies above the one you just made.

Use the parts system as linked.

After you plug in your VIN, you'll find the part number you want under the ELECTRICS section, then the WINDSHIELD WIPER sub-section.

For my 2006, I clearly see the whole assembly is still for sale, it's MSRP $30/side but my local dealer, if I place the order through the national parts site for an extra discount, gets that entire assembly price down to $22 and it replaces everything from the arm stub to the windshield (NEVER buy parts directly from the counter or they'll charge full MSRP or more). The rubber insert alone is also for sale, definitely not discontinued, and $7.80 if I start my order through the national parts site (MSRP $10.81).

I'm not linking or listing the part numbers for my truck here, because it may not be compatible with your truck. I have an '06. You have an '01, and didn't give enough info to know what cab type, though I don't know if it matters in this case, I'm not risking it.

Proof both parts are in the system; note the lines; the right-hand index# (85212A - that's the index number NOT the part number) is the assembly and 85214A is only the rubber wiper insert.

Well, I had the ASLAM in hand and needed to drive about 5 hrs before I could get back to this. During that time, I experienced just how bad those wipers are, having to pull over every 10 minutes or so and fix them... in the rain. That sucked.

Anyway, I followed Shifty's instructions and found that the part number I already had from 20 yrs ago was the one on the EPC website. So, I called my dealer back specifically with the part number and told them I found it on Toyota's parts website, and now the truth comes out: they CAN get them, but they can only order in sets of 10, so they won't. I wish they had told me that initially instead of the "Toyota quit making it" line, and I could have avoided this recent shitty rain/ wiper experience. Anyway, I'll have to contact Ourisman to see if I can get them to mail me some.

BTW, which Ourisman Toyota? Seems like there are several.

Shifty, thanks for your work putting together that post to help strangers out.

Ourisman (formerly McWhatever) has three different parts sites for the same place and each has its own discount level last I checked, weirdly.
