2006 LX 470 dealer maintained and just under 200k, what a machine it drives so damn nice.

Drove 4.5 hours to Whitefish to buy it, smiled the whole way home. Put the Tundra in the shop and will be daily driving this for now.

Found the window sticker in the paperwork
    2006 it was 69k!

The Tundra is a great truck but this is older has more miles and dare I say drives even better, I dont know what magic they sprinkled on this thing but I damn sure like it.

It is so damn fancy compared to my base Tundra.

    Congrats

That's one of the vehicles I want for a trail vehicle. Still in the indecisive stages. One day....

Very cool. What is different between the LX470 and GX470?

    $70k....that's insane.

That’s a sweet LX! I test drove 3 of them before buying my tundra. Only reason I went with the tundra was I couldn’t justify purchasing a 10+ year old vehicle and putting my newborn in it (not that I thought it’d break down.. both other people did).

as for the handling.. they have a very unique feel. Almost feels very heavy but also easy to steer and smooth. At least that was my experience with all my test drives and also when I’d drive my old roommates.

hope to get one soon! Again, great purchase!

    1 week review.

    1. This thing is thirsty, v8 AWD and 5500lbs or so 13 mpg currently, to be fair 90% or so town
    2. Not nearly as slow as the internet made me think it would be, not quick or fast but 100% acceptable power level.
    3. The LX is much smaller than my gen 2 Tundra, parking and town driving is a lot easier
    4. The 3rd row is kinda a gimmicky set up and I removed the seats and put on a shelf in my shop
    5. I have a open air bag recall and the local Lexus dealer is giving me a free rental while I do the work next week, not bad for a 13-14 year old SUV

Only mods I have planned are a cut and buff in the spring and rust convertor/ frame clean up also in the spring.

Been look at those myself. That many miles, I'd put shocks on it. Check the air bags on the back.

The only reason I haven't is the third row. Can a small adult fit?

    Nice find!

I'm in the market for a similar year/condition GX, LX, Land Cruiser, or Sequoia. It's not easy finding something old and clean!

LX 470 has AHC not airbags, so far everything works as it should, if the AHC fails I will remove it and replace it with traditional suspension

3rd row is useable for kids, smaller young folks. At the end of the day, I would hop in the 3rd row vs walking :)

87 octane is minimum, internet says premium will afford better MPG, I am going to test that theory.

So far I am seriously liking this fancy pants land cruiser.

Ain't that the truth. I've looked at them till I'm tired of looking.... You would think that if you had a car that retail at those prices..... you'd take care of them. NOPE. I did find one Sequoia that is an 08 that is half way descent.

13mpg. Ouch. Even my 4.7L Tundra on 33's does better than that. I'd be curious to see what you can get on the highway. Maybe 17.

Yeah its pretty heavy at around 5500lbs and full time 4x4 so it makes sense. While it sucks, I did know these bastards get shit for mileage

Going to check out a GX470 today, hoping it's as clean in person as it is in the pictures.

Unfortunately the price is at the top of my budget. It has 120k miles. I would want to have the timing belt done ASAP ($1,400) and I just saw now that like Tundras, they are known to have secondary air induction pump issues. :annoyed:.

Put it up on the lift and checked things out, looks pretty good, can tell it lived on a dirt road and was not garaged. Once spring comes around I will spend some time cleaning up the surface rust and years of dirt under there.

Close fit but they both fit in the small attached garage.
