So my dad is buying a tundra and wants to buy my methods and at2's from me and figure it is the perfect time to downgrade upgrade to 17's! I have been religiously running the the toyo at's for a few years and have had zero issues in them in the 275/65/20 (34.1x11x20) size. I am looking to go a little wider here and slightly higher, most likely a 35x12.5x17, without adding too much weight and road noise. Max weight 65lbs a tire.

The new duratrac's look awesome, but lots of reports of road noise as they wear down. The toyo's are available in that size, but not until June at this point. What else should I check out? I used to run BFG AT KO's prior to the toyo's and always had great luck there. Thanks

My Duratrac’s got very noisy as they wore. Constant rotations helped some. They were great off-road.

Currently I have Falken Wildpeaks, so far very quiet and all’s well. They are worth a look if you want more of a hybrid tread for better off-road capability. I’ve always had good results with Toyo’s too.

Bridgestone Revo3 are great in load E, quiet, great wet traction, not too heavy or overly aggressive. I’ve been running Revo2 and Revo3 for over 20 years. Their weak point is wear though I always get a solid 40-50K out of them

Forgot to mention, I see a LOT of highway miles a year and then when off pavement am on some pretty nasty terrain for punctures and mud/ rocks. I loved the at2’s but would like something slightly more aggressive. Thanks!

Cooper AT3 XLT. Look up the thread on them. Compare weight, tread life and warranty companies to the Toyo or anything else.

The Coopers and the Revo3 are equally rated on Tirerack, which gathers a ton of reviews, and the tires appear similar in many ways. The Coopers are certainly popular on tundras.com, lots of fans, not the first time a specific product gains inertia on an enthusiast website. I have friends who love them, they seem about the same to me,

I just got Toyo AT3s mounted a few days ago. 35x11.5x17 (34.5” measured diameter) on 17” rock warrior wheels (+50 offset). I left the 1.25” spidertrax spacers on that I was previously using, so it does rub a tiny bit at full lock. If I take off the spacers, it should fix the problem. I just like how it looks for now though too much to remove them.

I think saving that inch of width relative to the 35x12.5 helps with weight, mileage, rubbing, and cost. I like them so far, but its only been a few days. Prior to finding the 35x11.5, i was going to get cooper ST maxx’s. Coopers get rave reviews all around. But the toyos saved me enough to buy an aftermarket skid plate.
