I picked up a new metal rear bumper and it’s in raw steel.

Debating on how I get some color on it. Should I powdercoat, Line-X, or rattle can it black?

Which one would you choose and why?

    Thanks

I'd be tempted to PC that. Or auto paint. Too big to rattle can, IMO.

    Alot of them
Line-X Premium or powdercoat....either would look good...but do the front to match.

    Chrome it!!

    I know... kidding.

My immediate thought also is line x or PC.

But do consider this:good ol’ Rustoleum gets used to finish and protect steel cell towers footings, bridge parts, etc... that are all exposed to incredible stress and damage from the elements. It is also very easy to touch up, or even sand and re spray when needed.

It will be your budget winner, you can choose the color(s) you like, and the finish (matte-gloss)

I wouldn’t push you in any direction, but youre not crazy to ask about spray paint- it can be a good and durable option.

Probably dumb question but will line-x add significant weight?

I have always used Rustoleum bed liner. Used it on my sliders, bumpers, etc on my old FJ. Never had issues in New England for 3+ years. Also, super quick and easy to touch up.
