    Whats up Toyota family!

First timer in a vehicle forum. Apologize if I'm breaking any rules. Call me a newbie, I wont mind!

I just upgraded from a 2000 Tacoma (240k miles) to a 2000 Tundra (230k miles) mainly because I needed more cabin room for my fishing gear and fishing buddies, but also because I wanted a more comfortable drive to and from local watering holes. This is my weekend warrior truck, not my daily driver, that I'll use to haul kayaks, take camping, pick up mulch, pick up FB marketplace steals, etc. My daily driver is a company provided minivan.

I bought the Tundra last week and I got to put the truck to test this past weekend, putting about 230 miles on it, driving up remote mountain roads in Western NC. I love the feel of the truck and it did great getting me and my buddies to the fishing hole, comfortably. However, I did notice a couple things are funky with the truck..they are as follows:

    1. AC doesn't blow cold and when I turn the AC on the engine RPMs oscillate. I tried charging the AC but the pressure was already really high as seen on the gauge from the bottle of gas. This was my first time trying to charge a vehicle and didn't do much research prior to this attempt. I left the AC off for the duration of my recent road trip.

    2. I noticed the truck also intermittently inches forward when at a stop. It also happened when it was in reverse. I think this is related to the AC, and only occurs when it is on.

    3. The truck also jolts forward on occasion, pretty violently. I feel like it revs a little bit and then catches the gear. I'm pretty concerned about this one. My first thought is transmission issue. I can avoid the violent jolt by listening to the engine and letting off of the gas when I notice it not in gear.

    4. The check engine light came on. I've never run diagnostics on a vehicle and not quite sure the tool ill need to do so is readily available.

    5. The car beeps constantly when the driver side door is open and the key is not in the ignition. Is this common? I feel like it would drain the battery if I left the door open for an extended period.

I didn't notice any of these issues when I test drove and bought the truck and feel somewhat betrayed by the seller of the vehicle, that said this truck was mechanically sound w/ no issue.I thought I did my due diligence at the time but I guess that's kind of a pointless road to go down...

I have pretty decent mechanical aptitude but don't have a ton of experience working on vehicles. I think I'm capable and motivated to work on my truck but honestly would much rather spend my time out kayak fishing or playing outdoors. I'm trying to decide if I should tackle some of these problems myself or do I need to bite the bullet and take it in to a shop. I am reaching out to the Tundra community for some direction and perhaps some motivation. Thanks guys/gals! Posting pics of the truck from this past weekend's adventure. Welcome, seems like it needs a little maintenance. The A/C system sounds like it is over charged, that is why the compressor is kicking on and off
