    Hi All,

My name is Adam and I hail from northwest Montana. I've been lurking on the forum here and there for a while as I was doing research on what truck I should buy.

I purchased a Cavalry Blue 2019 Tundra Crewmax Limited, with the TRD Off Road package, back in December. I honestly wasn't looking to get a new truck until later in 2021, but found I couldn't pass this one up after I test drove it. It was a lease return that had just under 33k miles on it when I got it.

After driving a Chevy Silverado 1500 for almost 20 years (and a Chevy S-10 for several years before that), I decided to try something new. I have never had a Tundra (or even driven a Toyota of any kind) before now.

With the kids getting bigger, I needed more cab space than my Silverado had in the extended cab. Additionally, my 20 year-old Silverado was really starting to show its age. It was time for a new truck.

As for modifications and add-ons, my Tundra has a plastic drop-in Penda bedliner that will get replaced with a Line-X spray-in liner next week. There are also some AMP Research Powersteps that will get Line-X on them as well, since I have already found them to be too slick. The kids and wife have really appreciated the Powersteps, so I just want to make them safer for us all. Eventually, I want to get a topper for it, but that will need to wait (hopefully not too long).

I'm still getting used to the lack of storage under the rear seats (as compared to my Silverado), but I've learned I didn't really need all the stuff I had been storing. I've seen quite a few ideas on adding storage under the seats already, so have plenty of options if I decide to go that route.

I have already learned a lot from what I have seen on the forum, and hope to learn a lot more as time goes on.

Of course, everyone wants to see pics. So, here is a pic my wife took when I brought the Tundra home.

Those early 2000's 1500s were excellent vehicles, I have a couple friends still driving those into their retirements. I love that color with that grill, that's a mean mug its got.

Thanks for all the welcome messages! It is greatly appreciated.

It is beautiful indeed. Most beautiful place that I have lived in (and I have only lived in Montana).

Nice! I lived over there for a while (early 2000s to early 2010s).

I do love that Silverado. I haven't sold it yet, and am not looking forward to the day when it does leave. The biggest issue I have with the Silverado is the transmission randomly slips, and no one has been able to diagnose it because they can't feel it happening. Or maybe I just need to find a better mechanic? Or maybe I am just hallucinating...:notsure:

I will do so...thank you both for the suggestion. I was reading that specific thread a lot when I was considering buying this truck. I hadn't realized what all other folks have done to their Tundras..."impressive" doesn't even begin to describe them.

I was looking for a Voodoo Blue (or similar color) version originally (as I was considering a Tundra or Tacoma), and didn't even know that Cavalry Blue existed. I have not seen too many other Tundras in Cavalry Blue around here. I have seen a Tacoma in the same color, though.

Welcome from Wisconsin! Love the Cavalry Blue :) Great choice!

I still have my 1997 GMC Sierra Z71 I bought off the showroom floor. I still love that truck, but it's on it's 2nd engine and in need of it's 4th transmission with 140k on it. RIDICULOUS. I think I got a lemon, but after having a crappier-than-crap 2006 Trailblazer, I swore off of GM products. But still ok for hauling hay and work around the property.
