Helping a friend resurrect his 2000 Tundra V8. Build date is 08/99. Problem with gas pedal response. Half way nothing and then 3000 rpm. I have cleaned throttle body. Yes there was a check engine light. Couldn't read codes because of no power to OBDII. Fuse is good. Story is that this all started after hitting a deer. Any suggestions?

I should have added that I own a 2003 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 Prerunner. I joined this forum because I have learned that the best place to get information on problems is asking people that may have heard or had the same problem.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! You might get a better response by posting the question to one of the forums on this site for your Gen 1 Tundra. you can also search for the Ask the Toyota Mechanic thread. Not all of the superstar mechanics come to the Introduction forum.
