Hey all I'm hoping for an answer to my question. I see its been posed before but no resolution was posted.

I recently bought a 2007 Tundra Limited 4x4 145k miles and I noticed a whistling sound at about 40-55mph. I didnt hear it on the test drive so Im feeling pretty dumb I didnt catch it.

Anyway as i drive, the sound seems mostly there between 40-45 and sometimes 55. Ive shifted through the gears manually to see if it may be transmission related but it doesnt seem to make a difference. Engine rpm either. the noise seems to come and go for a second or two then go away then comes back.

Ive read about the windshield may have a leak but i can seem to pin it down.

    Any ideas???????????

Wow... That could be almost anything. Even fitment of various body panels.
Maybe try putting painter's tape over various areas?

I had a 2004 and could have sworn that the gap between the front qtr panel and the door was causing a whistle sound.

Thanks for the reply. It was established that this vehicle had he front bumper repainted for some reason but nothing was ever reported. This noise is driving me up the wall and makes me second guess my purchase. Its a pretty awful feeling.... whats really interesting is I can almost always have it make this noise at 40-41 mph about 99 percent of the time.

I had my fingers crossed for a Toyota vet to say, "hey dummy its probably your ******."
I have an appt for the dealer where I got it from tomorrow but I highly doubt theyll find it

Could be a high flow air filter causing the whistle.

UPDATE: I found it! Finally got some free time and took a close look. Found that there was a bend in the skid plate way over on passenger side. Took it off and rebent the thing. It took awhile but slapped it back on and noise was gone!
