I've been reading the great info on here for awhile, but thought I'd start with a bang. I hit a massive rock in the middle of the highway that sent me into a wall then guardrail. It was brutal, but no injury. Now I'm just sad. Just wanted some conjecture on what insurance Co. will do; fix or total out. Front/front left damage: no fluid leaks, driver and curtain bags deployed, left tire/rim shock/strut destroyed.

On another note: When you get behind the wheel... Enjoy the drive in your Tundra for me today. I'll be in my hatchback, haha!

    Yowch!

Glad your okay. I’m not sure if they will total or fix. Tundras hold their value so well. I bet if the frames bent it will b totaled. If so get you a Pro!

Welcome, sorry 'bout the truck, looks like it's totaled due to all the damage to the wheel/suspension/steering.

I'll definitely keep you updated! Either way there will likely be more Tundra pics posted in the future. Even though it was a 2014 I only had 38k on the odom.

I think this is fixable from visually assessing the damage. However, as you mentioned that the airbags are deployed becomes questionable.

I agree, if frame is damaged it’s totaled, I wouldn’t risk a fix for that. Start shopping for a replacement! Glad you’re ok!!

Welcome! Why was there a massive rock in middle of the HWY? How big?

Start looking at new ones, leaning totaled....

Construction zone/huge job - guessing from either a dump or brought into road by a snow plow where they were scraping/leveling. After I hit it and broke some of it off, it was STILL size of a basketball. Due to me slowing everyone down (I was "that guy") I went and got it out of roadway after so no one joined me.

Glad you weren't hurt. Sorry bout the truck. Sucks, I'm hoping the road working company is going to step up and take care of this for ya. Things like this shouldn't happen in road construction site. And yes while I'm going into town I'll think about ya and I'll be thankful I get to drive my Tundra.

Get an attorney. In New York construction companies are liable for maintaining their work zone 24/7 and have insurance. I would go through their insurance instead of yours.
    Good luck.

I have a 2016, had a fender bender,at less than 30mph. All but one airbag deployed. Estamate for new fender, which could of been fixed, and labor was less than 2K. No body damage. Airbags over 10K.

I'm guessing the undercarriage damage from the rock will push it over to being totaled. Good luck.

Welcome. Glad you came out okay.
sheet metal, cross member, suspension, wheel(s), airbags.... I'll bet it's totaled, or close enough you can argue they total it. The likely hood of it being "right" after a repair... probably close, the decreased value w/ no compensation & your property taxes still based on unmolested value... I'd let it go if possible, you just don't come out right from this plus the loss of use, etc. Good luck!

    Welcome,
Mine was totaled out after someone made a left hand turn in front of me going the opposite direction on a 2 lane highway. Airbags deployed. I broke an arm and finger and was off work for 6 weeks. Glad your ok. I found a lightly used 2017 5.7 DC to replace it.
