Just purchased a new 2016 SR5 crewmax 4.6L 2WD with the TSS package. Been driving a 2002 Tundra access cab for the last 10 years. Wife drives that truck now. 20160726_215855.jpg 20160727_180212.jpg

Welcome from KY...btw they still offer the 4.7? I have seen this a couple times the past couple days. I just assumed they pitched the 4.7 for the 5.7 hoss that my local gas stations love

Welcome from eastern CO! What made you choose the 4.6 over the 5.7?

Thanks everyone. I'm in the San Antonio area. The wife's car was failing and needed a lot of mechanical work, so I had to move fast to find a new vehicle. The 4.6 was $3K less than the 5.7 version and we were upside down $2500 on her car. I may regret not getting the 5.7 one day, but for daily life right now the 4.6 will serve us well.
Planned upgrades - interior LED lights, ESP under seat storage, add additional LED reverse lights, LED bar in the hood bulge, fender flares, may de-chrome the front with the TRD grille, adjustable coil overs (kings most likely) to level the front, skid plate if the TRD one will work with the 4.6, maybe tow mirrors.

Welcome from CO! Honestly, the $3k extra is well worth it, IMO. Better to have and not need, then to need and not have.

The 02 with the 4.7 does fell like it has more power and quicker, but it is a smaller and lighter truck. Ideally, one day I would like to have a 1794 4x4, just was not even close to being in the budget right now.
