IMG_2791.jpg [IMG] [IMG] New member here, long time Toyota owner. Wife is on her 2nd Corolla. I'm on my 4th Toyota RV hauler (SUV / Truck). 2000 4Runner, 99' 4Runner, 05' 4Runner (4.7) and now a 14' Tundra double cab limited 5.7. Used primarily to tow my RV trailer and some as a daily driver. Bought it new in Jan of 2014. Had to "special" order it to get the OEM tow mirrors. I have 51k on it. Longest RVing trip was Alaska in 2016 / 14k miles over 110 days. Plan to go back in 19'

Have been on Tundra Talk for 5 years, but that site is not meeting my needs...Live in NE. Ohio and RV 60 to 100 nights a year. Being retired (2016) we tend to take longer 1-3 month trips now...

One question I will be posting is : When is the next generation of Tundra? I have searched up and down and there are only vague rumors...

Welcome from NC! To answer your question there is a lot of speculation but nothing definitive. Show us some pics of your Tundra!!

The latest RV is a 2018 ORV (Outdoors RV) Timber Ridge 24rks. It measures 28'8" ( 11'6" tall) and it's heavy. 6600 lbs dry about 7600-8000 lbs. wet (loaded) 840 lbs dry tongue weight. ORV is a sister company of the Arctic Fox brand which are more of a 4-season premium built unit. In other words, built like a tank. Thermal pane windows standard, The MorRyde 3000 suspension with Monroe shocks on 16" Goodyear's, huge tanks (80 gallon fresh, 45 black 45+45 gray). Very neat construction quality, made for down to zero degrees, full 4" insulation edge to edge in the roof, full 1" baggage doors...All this makes it about 1000-1500 lbs. heavier than your normal Indiana built RV. These are made in eastern Oregon and only sold west of Denver. Hence last fall we drove the 4500 miles to pick our's up.

Nice rig ours is a rear kitchen as well front bedroom and is 6600 dry 10,000. Loaded but we never really fill water we are full power campers( water, sewer, power) hookups. How did the tundra handle the trailer. And do u have a Ed hutch with sway control and aftermarket brake controller?

Plenty of HP. Did a 6 week trip to New England states and New Brunswick Canada this fall over some decent mountains in VT, NH and Maine. One thing I remember was coming out of the Bay of Fundy National Park in New Brunswick Canada. There is about 200' take-off from a stop sign (out of the campground) , then about a 2-3 mile grade from sea level to 2000' maybe a 11-12% grade. The rpm's were about 4000-4200 and about a 75--85% throttle maintaining at about 45-50 mph. I was a little worried, as that was by far the hairiest grade so far, and add in a few "S" turns at the start, so you couldn't get any head start. I did swap out my Bridgestone Duelers as they were a highway tire with the Tundra's Limited trim package and 20" rims. I went with the General APT's which are a All-terrain tire with about 250lbs more carrying capacity over the Bridgestones. I did get 46k on the Bridgestone's with at least 50% towing miles.

Yes, I have a Reese WD hitch with 1200 lb. trunnion bars. Plan to go back to Alaska next summer. One thing is for sure on this new RV. the MorRyde 3000 suspension makes the trailer float like butter over rough roads. The only road into Fundy National Park is a 20 mile "glorified" broken pavement logging road. It took all the undulations of the road with that suspension. In a construction zone in NE. Maine the bulldozer just did a pass ahead of us. The gravel / dirt road was worse than any construction zones in Alaska. The RV trailer in front of us was all over the road, the chuckhole were just hasty. With the MorRyde suspension it took all the worry out of having to dodge the holes and dips...

Once at a campground will fill the 80 gallon tank, especially in many of the national parks that are dry camping. Otherwise when traveling and doing a Walmart overnight or two, I'll put in maybe 30 gallons. With going thru Canada (Alberta, BC and the Yukon) "GOOD" ( free) water is sometimes a day or two or three between. So just knowing I "could" carry 80 gallons...makes life easier. The RV trailer we took to Alaska back in 2016 ( 2013 Aerolite - pic below) did have a 52 gallon fresh which for it's size was very good.

Right on well to say the least I’m really excited to get on the road my wife just retired and I’m a full time student (retraining from previous work) our first Artic Fox was smaller and didn’t have the suspension you and I have now so curious to see how it handles I will have to look into the wd hitch I have it came from the previous owner and that was a 1 ton dodge but I’m assuming it will work but am going to investigate. Let me know ur thoughts.

Returning from our Alaska trip in 2016 we stopped in MT to look at the Arctic Fox line. But the only floorplan remotely suitable was just a tad "too" long / heavy to be towed by my Tundra. We had been looking for that "higher" quality RV trailer in the 25' to 30' length to sleep 3 adults, plus 64" plus couch, large tanks, huge cabinet storage and quality build.

So on my main go to RVing website (IRV2.com), someone said "did you know Arctic Fox has a sister company called Outdoors RV", only been out since 2009. Well in behold, many more floorplans in 6 models in some shorter lengths than the AF's. So on our Yellowstone trip in the spring of 2017, we stopped at two dealers in ID. & WY. As soon as my wife saw our floorplan, she said "This is the one" within 15 minutes. We didn't buy from either dealer, as the go to dealer was in OR. right near the plant.

As far as price, they could run twice as much as a "stick and tin" unit of the same length...

Having retired back in 16', we tend to do more longer 2-6 week trips now. Still get out to our local state parks (Findley, West Branch, Punderson and Mohican).
