    Hi,

I wanted to see if by ANY chance that a OEM radio head-unit from a 2020 Tundra with Andriod Auto or Carplay can fit and work in a 2018 Tundra? The headunit I have not doesn't have either option.

Im trying to think of a good way to have AA or iCP working and also have the vehicle information that the OEM headunit shares and shows.

IDATALINK Maestro allows full integration with most aftermarket head units.

The headunit isn't aftermarket. I'm trying to see if I can use iCP or AA with the headunit that came with the truck. Or see if another headunit from a 2020 tundra would work seamlessly in my 2018 tundra.

It will fit, but better off just going aftermarket for wireless CarPlay.

The usability on this looks awesome. Is the finish on the back side open to the dash?

A 2020 radio will fit. You will need the harness from Autoharnesshouse.com.

I gotta ask, how distracting is that big screen when driving? I want to replace my stock HU and always thought I’d just get the same size as stock. But the more I think about it, maybe a floating screen will be better for navigation? I’m only hesitant because of how big they seem.

The Pioneer 8600 would suit your needs better. Let me find that thread for you.

Post #4 to give you an idea but there is another larger thread on these size head units.

It isn't at all...I got the one with the garmin nav built in 1007 is the model number.... The original built in seemed a bit small for nav at least to me. I think the ones in the 22's are even bigger than mine and seem too big.....The other reason I went with the Kenwood is it has that big volume knob on it which is really nice. I added JL componets for everything else in the truck...sound is fantastic.
