I GOT PLANS!.... Implementation is another topic.
It's kinda amazing, how they actually even have MPG as a page. I didn't buy it for the gas milage. I did try to run in four high on the highway for a tank just to see....did seem to get slightly higher....like 15.8 over 15.6

I think it's a neat feature. I have tested it mathematically and on my truck it's pretty damn close. I have 4.6 and drive speed limit maybe a bit over on certain roads. Live in a mostly hilly area. And use my tundra as a truck. But don't abuse it. At worst I get 15 with bed loaded with firewood, or pulling my landscape trailer on a dump or scrap metal run. Winter is at least 2mpg worse. Best milage is from my house in lower Hudson valley to Catskill NY. There and back 19 mpg. I didn't buy a truck worried about gas mileage but the technology is there to have power and torque. Just my 2 cents worth. Too each there own. Buy what you like. Do you.!

Reset the mpgs by holding the button down, this will clean up the data and you can start over getting current mpg's.

Thaskin is right on. If you bought a Tundra for gas milage, you have the wrong truck. But if you have it for power and room and because it just drives better, then be happy. There's always the new hybrid trucks to choose from.

I seem to pull 15ish around town and mixed highway... I have seen high 18's with some road trips down back highways doing 55-60mph. 75-80 on the highway seems to be 15. Am I missing something?

I have a 2013 Impreza, the first vehicle I ever owned that gave fuel efficiency numbers, and it always overshoots it by 2-4 mpg, almost every time. But I must say, the Tundra is usually pretty close. Here's part of a spreadsheet I keep; check out the computer MPG number vs the hand calc number:

I may have seen that on my gen 2, but it really doesn't matter as long as I get from point A to B as fast as possible!
Just think if I had a Super Charger!

Drives better idk. In '09 Ram went with coil springs in the rear end which improved ride quality over everything else I've drove. In 07' The Tundra was basically the best truck you could get based on size, power, etc but for some reason they just haven't done much since then. I don't get it. You still basically have the same MPG and power #s while other trucks have continually improved.

Hey all! I've watched your forum for awhile and finally signed up. As far as mpg I've never been close to claimed. I own a 2016 I was around 14.5 and then i put 20" wheels and tires and i now avg. A whopping 11.7! Love the Tundra though! Owned a 2008 and same thing. I put 180k on my first and now 105k on my 16. Never ever close to claimed mpg

My 2wd 5.7 DC regularly got high 16s in normal driving.

Now I get about 15 in my CM 4wd with 34" tires.
