    Hi all.

Growing up I had shotguns and rifles. My dad took me hunting and we shot skeet on a regular basis but never had the opportunity to use or own a handgun. I've shot about 5 different handguns over the past year that were friends when we would go to the range but I'm still relatively new to them. There is a handgun course coming up at a local gun shop/range that I will be attending but I was looking for holsters and not sure what to get. I like the blackhawk brand that is rigid plastic and has the button to release the gun but that would not work for a in the pant holster so i can be more discreet in public then an outside the pant holster. What do you guys use for concealed carry that is comfortable as well as secure.

Fyi I got my concealed carry license today so that is all taken care of.

Nice, I've always had a soft spot for those. I can say though being a full sized handgun it'll get uncomfortable trying to conceal carry it. I have a Ruger 9e and a Ruger SR1911 .45. The 1911 I carry, even with the short barrel version, and it's still uncomfortable. I'm looking to get something smaller like a .380 but haven't really found one I want just yet.

Congrats. As a gun hoarder, I will say the 92fs has always been in my top 3 favorites. Excellent shooter and superior quality.

I love my 92FS! The first gun I bought and 0 regrets. Great design and proven to last (like a Toyota). I got to admit though, I couldn't imagine carrying it concealed. More power to you though!

Nice. I have a 96A1 and love it, but I wouldn't carry it IWB. I have a Nano for that. I use crossbreed holsters for IWB.

One bad thing about carrying out in the open is that will make you a target for the bad guys IF you happen to be at the same place at the same time. Just a thought...

    Nice pistola

I bought one at the Rhein Mein rod and gun club in Frankfurt Germany in 84 or 85 just before the us military selected them. It went for about $280. It has over 30,000 rounds through it and it is solid. Been rebarreled though.

    Nice !
Dont worry about conceal carrying it. I have carried both a full size 1911 as well as a full size Sig P226.( Not at the same time..)
Guns are comforting , not comfortable .
Also , a good quality holster for CC i would choose a We The People. For OWB i like G-Code

Living in CA, being able to conceal carry rests on the decision of local law enforcement. Luckily, my Sherriff knows what's up.

I ccw a glock 17, which is a .40, but you can swap out a 9mm barrel and shoot 9mm too.

No it is not comfortable. The people that I know that carry comfortably carry smaller, less powerful guns than the .40 I have

My brother has a smaller pocket weapon that he carries, he uses the +p rounds

There are many different type of carry holsters. You will have to find one right for you and your pistol. It takes the normal things where you are going to carry, being comfortable, access, all that. I went thru like four or five holsters or apparatus till I found the one I use now. It might take you a couple. Find a gun store that carries them and see about trying a couple and now there is the newer Kydec/x holsters?? Lots out there?? If you want send me a message I have a friend that makes them now I can send you the info. I carry on a waist band but looking at changing again because I don’t like the heat so much anymore. I sent you his name in a message

i hear ya there. the first one i got where i purchased it is a cloth material but it is to tight when i try an holster it the slide gets pushed back a little. it may just be because it is new and not worn in but i also like the safety of a clip system that way no one can get it easily if they get close.

Great gun. That was my first handgun back in the day. I have too many holsters but one of my favorites is the Tucker gun leather Texas Heritage. I got it for my USP compact which is about 1.5 inches shorter in length and .5 inches shorter in height than your 92. It's very comfortable.

    Glock 17 is 9mm

Did you mean you have a Glock 22 conversation to 9mm?

I rock a Concealment Express but this style is made under a bunch of brand names. I’ve tried plenty of others and keep gravitating back to it. Perfect retention and easy on/off. I only do kydex For my IWb holsters, which is mostly how I carry. Consistent, smooth re-holster under stress. Cloth or leather IWB holsters can get deformed by the belt and have to be pulled off so the gun can be put back in and then you can stick it back in your pants.

Not what you want to deal with if you draw in a high stress situation and have to re holster quickly. If I had to go leather IWB I want one of the ones with a metal ring woven into the opening so it doesn’t get crushed by your belt when you draw. With my concealment express I can get the gun back home just as easily as I could a belt holster when under stress.

Nice piece. For IWB I preferr leather (I like Galco or handmade), but as someone else pointed out, it's what suits you.

Take a look at the S&W Bodyguard 380 with laser. I carry it using the Desantis Infiltrator Air IWB holster.

great pistol, I had a 96D many moons ago. they are nice to shoot. it's a timeless piece.

    it's just not concealable.

I carry a p320 xcompact. loos for that size pistol or smaller for great concealment

The 92FS is the most bulletproof 9mm autoloading pistol on the market... and I say that as a Glock fan.

The 92FS was tested with ammo designed to cause chamber failures. That pistol will run +P+ ammo on a limited basis. It will run +P all day, every day.

Luv, luv, luv that pistol: elegant to behold and felt like two handfuls of Charlotte McKinney.

Congrats on the purchase. Take a look at crossbreed holsters and green force tactical. I have used both with good results. Also, don't be afraid to check fleabay for a used holster, there are some good deals on there.

i decided on a serpa holster. i like that it locked the gun in when holstering and its comfortable. there is not way id be able to conceal carry with any amount of ease. as a first handgun i will use it to learn good shooting technique and when i want to conceal get a smaller one as well. who said you cant have more than 1 gun :):):):)

Excellent purchase! The 92fs is one of the smoothest handguns I have, single action it is a laser beam. You will enjoy the range time with that.
