Just bought 2nd Tundra after being (sick) without a truck for 4 years. Found a new left-over 2018 at a good price last week and jumped on it. I didn't like the stock wheels/tires and ordered a set of 20" beauties (see attached photo). After getting it home I'm like Homer Simpson.....D'oh. I have a 18" spare under the frame. I would hate to throw on an 18" tire after an unexpected flat unless it was a short drive. Therefore, my question. Does anyone have a stored 20" spare under the frame? The current tires on the new rims are 275/155/20. I'm not sure it will fit, even if I can find a cheap 20" rim to put a decent spare on. Any assistance is very much appreciated.

It'll fit. Rim size isn't important, overall diameter is. If, for some reason you spare isn't the same as the other 4, be sure to run it up front and don't use 4 wheel drive if you have it.

+1, rim size not important. I have OEM 20s. Never checked spare. I am sure it is an 18

Like mentioned earlier, overall diameter is what is important.

I doubt your new tires are much taller.

So, did you just cut the angled stock "keepers" off of the frame? This is something I need to do. Thanks!

I have not. I believe people have cut them out at the rivets or where the tabs meet the frame to fit the tire.

Thanks! It looked like they stuck down way to far to fit a 35 on there without it possibly dragging on a breakover ridge to me. Maybe I was way off. It's hard to get perspective from looking from the ground up. ;)

Thanks! I was looking at it from under and it looked like it could fit a 35 by doing that. It looked like a pretty tight fit though.

Wow...Thanks to all for the warm welcome and for the quick responses to my question. Waiting for some black door edge trim to arrive today. Tonneau cover goes on tomorrow.

Hands down this is the best Tundra forum ever.

Post up some pics once you get them on, we like to see trucks, haha.
