New bumper

Anybody have this bumper or have any experience with this company?
I like that you can fit a couple of pod lights, something that none of the other ones on the market offer.
ToyTec carries it too.

Curious if this would fit a Warn 12k winch.

 

Good question, I assume it would fit considering how much space there is back there.
I sent them a message on social media to confirm

 

It’s clean looking if you want your truck to remain stock looking but it doesn’t offer much protection for the front end which is the whole purpose of most of the aftermarket bumpers.

I like it. Not sure if I like the CBI one better but its a good price point for recovery points and a which mount.

 

This design makes me feel like CBI could’ve done a better job.
The problem with this scorpion bumper is that there’s very little info about it.

Maybe a dumb question, but do any/all of these robustly attach to the frame so these recovery points and winch are sturdy enough to actually use for recovery?

The bumpers look great but I wouldn’t want metal pieces snapping off right when you need to yank on them to get the truck unstuck

 

Yes, they are directly bolted to both end caps of the frame with a steel plate joining both ends to bolt the winch onto.

The red markings represent what would be the trucks frame/chasis

 

That’s good to know, I suppose the next relevant question would be is there is any necessary trimming to the front facia and/or grill to install and if they can be properly refastened after any modification.

 

You have to cut the OEM bumper/facia and this bumper fits in place of the piece you cut off . The part you cut off can not be refastened if you decide to return to sock later on.

Thanks for the info and that’s good to know. These bumpers definitely change the look of our trucks. I’ve been looking at the specs and most seem to weigh around 80ish pounds and the full size replacements about 110ish.

Hey man! That is a "sister company" of ours here under the DPI umbrella.

Install on that bumper we did here at the shop and was super easy to do overall. Great budget friendly option for the 22+ Tundras

 

Do you know if itll fit a 12k winch in there?
Is it made in USA?
How long of a wait to receive it?

 

For a 12K winch, hard to say really, does the winch have a external solenoid? If so I don't see why not as the winch plate does have a modular holes to accommodate most of the "foot prints" of the major brand winches out there. If it is a consolidated solenoid then you may have to do some modification to the radiator support// other parts in there.

Seems that Scorpion upped their prices since you posted this

 

Bumper super store $719 less the $25 coupon and free shipping.

 

I noticed that a little while ago. I emailed them asking whether the bumper comes with cover plates if not wanting cube lights or light bar. One pic appears to show a different look and all other pics show with lights. Same with a 20” inch light as I already have a Baja mounted above this area.

 

No response from Scorpion or bumperstore on the question of the light and winch knockouts and if neither wanted what does the bumper look like or if blank plates available.
