I had a little over 2 years on my Super Start Platinum from O'reillys. I noticed a slow crank upon cold start with some light dimming... Ended up getting a replacement under warranty.

Other than a very quick crank turnover and no light dimming, is it normal to feel smoother shifts and just overall a more smooth/linear pick up under normal acceleration? I noticed this after driving on the new battery after just one day.. Been three days now and she's smooth as can be.

There's no HP difference but the transmission kick downs are much quicker, especially under heavy throttle...

Just a neat discovery I thought I'd share. Anyone else?

A happy electrical system can make a modern vehicle feel better for sure. Everything electronically controlled and batteries are used to help keep voltage stable when the engines running. So if your old one wasn’t great, it could of made things not work quite right

A bad cell in a battery will drag the voltage and performance of the whole electrical system down. Also, swapping the battery is like a hard reset for the electrical system. Some parameters are reset and may behave differently such as shift points. Enjoy the smoothness!

It's the "placebo" effect. Defies explanation by science or the supernatural. Big load off your mind = happy truck driving better. :homer:

hahaha, it's not fools gold. It's night and day. No more strange lugging and strange power surges under load (no it's not the VVTI). The old battery was bulging too.

    Stoked for you!

Electrical Optimization does wonders for an engine. Things work smoother and last longer. The Reset may be part of what you are noticing, but a fresh battery thats hooked up nice and tight with conductive grease is Nirvana. Adding in some Redundant Ground Wires to help the current flow is another plus.

One step farther, you could clean up all your Existing Grounds in your Engine Bay. It would only cost you a few hours work and a small piece of sand paper and small tube of Electric Grease.

Good to know.. Now I realize why others used to do copper wire upgrades in the past. I normally slap the battery and go, which is what I did. It was not until the next day which it got my attention by surprise.
