Ok, not a Tundra, but still very cool.

This is just breaking news as Mercury Marine just announced a new 7.6L v12 600 HP outboard engine. Since I wok in this industry, I thought this was cool and any boat enthusiast here would like to see this..

That is cool! I have a 115 ProXS and it’s been a great engine.

The steerable gear case is interesting.

Yep....I work in boat/sxs,ATV and motor sales. They were really hyping up the coming announcement. We figured it was going to be some big HP engine. It is pretty amazing. And the motor sits still, it is the lower unit that provides the steering.

Merc also recently introduced a fuel injected 9.9 motor which is a great upgrade. Carbs on an outboard can be troublesome, even on the 4stroke engines.

    LOL, at $77K per pop....think I'll pass.

This is clearly aimed at all those exotic center consoles that were using the 7 Marine engines with the Cadillac v8. Volva Penta acquired 7 Marine and then killed it off within a year. This created a void that Mercury was happy to fill.

Yea, Mercury has been playing catch up on fuel injection for the small engines. Suzuki has had this for some time now. I had a Suzuki 20 a few years ago and that thing was great.

Thats Awesome.. I bet i could mount that in my truck bed.. All 4..

Of course you will need bill gates bank account to fill the gas tank with 4 v12 in a marine application. It would cost me $500 bucks to run my big block when i was boating and thats just one poker run. Imagine 4..
Once met a guy while running poker runs who had 4 Lambo Engines in his boat, and those were 50k a pop back in the 90's

Remove your current powertrain and suspension, seal all joints and grommets, add a pontoon to each side, relocate the fuel tank to the back seat and hang the v12 on the tailgate! Rock on Red Green!

My dad is still running his 1986 Suzuki 2 stroke outboard. 140 hp. 4 cylinder. Oil injected.

My son worked for Freeman Boat Works in Charleston a few years ago. I’m sure those guys are excited about this news. Yes, great boats, but mostly for the rich & famous!

I’m willing to bet that Midnight Express Boat works is jumping the line to mount 5 of them and showcase it this fall at the Ft Lauderdale boat show.

The people that have quad motors like this don't worry about the 77K per motor cost on their boats.

How bad does it look with the bed lowered into position?

You wont be able to turn your head to see it once you press the gas.

From the look of the rear wheel i think the bed is his last concern. I swear that wheel is bent.

Its fine you wont have to look at it more than 3.2 Seconds as you grow smaller in his rear view.
