Hello all. Not my first Toyota but my first Tundra. I have a 1990 4Runner that gets left at our hunting lease for everyone to use. It's the only vehicle that has yet to get stuck!! Just wanted another four wheel drive for myself. This is a 2005 Tundra Double Cab TRD. Since it is used, I'm not sure if it has a lift already on it or not. It sure seems to sit higher than stock. Does anyone know how many leafs are supposed to be in the rear? Anyway, this forum seems to be a treasure trove of great information, ideas and pictures. Thanks in advance.

Welcome! Any pix of the suspension? That would help us answer your question. Also, what size tires are on currently?

Here are the pics: I'm guessing that those are spacers in the front but the rear appears to be stock. Unless there is an extra spring in there. Tire size is 265/70R17. Thank you

Looks like a bolt on spacer kit in the front with a rear AAL. It's what I initially had on my 06 Tundra when I decided to level it. Congrats on your first Tundra! Reminds me of my white 06 SR5. Loved that truck! Here is a pic, would you say yours sits about them same? If so you probably have the same setup as mine did.

Front has a preload spacer (bottom spacer) and a top plate spacer (top spacer). Revtek does two spacers like that, so that's my guess.
I don't remember how many leafs are in a factory 1st gen leaf pack so I don't know if it has an AAL or not.

Very nice!!! I wasn't really looking for white, but it's growing on me. I like it because it was at a Toyota dealership. They put a brand new Toyota factory exhaust system on it including new O2 sensors and Cats. Also all new rear brake hardware and drums. That was after we already agreed on a price!!! Thank you everyone for your help. Does anyone know how many leafs are stock? Would the extra leaf (AAL) be obvious? Is that still the largest tire I can run? I'm not really looking for a larger diameter but would like it to be wider. Fill in those wheel wells.

    I was running 33/12.50/22's

Minor scrubbing at full lock with - offset rims. If your rims have a positive offset you may need a spacer to run wider tires. It may come with that many leafs I can't remember, it just looks like a bit much.

They are the factory rims, which I kind of like anyway. Is it safe four wheeling with spacers? This truck will spend most of its' time off road.

And it has a different curve to it too. Adds lift.

My Tundra has a similar set up with the AAL. The AAL was on it when I bought it. I figure it raised the rear about an 1". Better than a stupid block.IMHO

I agree. Much prefer the AAL over blocks. Do you use wheel spacers? Is it safe off-roading with them?

I'm not into wheel spacers at all unless you compensate for the change in geometry/possible added stress/rim/tire combo on the OEM setup. I see too many trucks around here (in Aurora) with the wheel spacer wide stance fake Raptor look. If you want the Raptor look, buy a freakin Raptor. IMHO. Toyota really needs to offer a true Raptor competitor. I'd buy it. The Pro isn't one. Although not a bad attempt.

Me either on the wheel spacers. I would like a wider stance with either wider tires or different back spacing. However, I really do like the stock rims on my Tundra. I guess I'll just live with it. I was in your neck of the woods this Christmas. My in-laws live in Parker and we spend most holidays there. Love the area.

My Tundra already had XD Monsters with Nitto M/T Trail Grapplers on it. I'm not sure of the offset, but my tires stick out almost 1 1/2" and throw up a lot of crap after I took off my mud flaps. I am not even close to rubbing my tires. They stick out wide enough that I'm going to get some good pocket flares before spring and will eventually upgrade to 35" tires. Let us CO guys know if you are coming up this way again next year for a meet and greet.

I'll take on a raptor 7 days a week. More travel than a raptor, more hp, more torque, and less gay.

I agree with you. I know your Tundra isn't stock. You have made some "slight" changes from "stock" if I'm correct.

Doubt it. Originally from Montana. Try to go out there once a summer about four of use with thousands of rounds of ammo and shoot those dogs for a long weekend. The dogs in Colorado are much fatter and more fun to shoot but few people will let us shoot them. Too many tree huggers!!

Was only joking. My brother is living in Irvine,CA. There are folks here that pay people to "rid" their property of prairie pups.
