So, the day before the city picks up the trash, everyone puts their trash cans at the curb. Would you be bothered if someone was walking by your house and placed a handful of trash in your trashcan? Would it matter what kind of trash that it was?

I walk my dog everyday and bag up the poop. Sometimes i will place the sealed poop bag in a random trashcan in the neighborhood.

For me, I would rather the trash be thrown in my trashcan than on the ground.

    What do you guys think?

I'd be fine with it. Never understood why people get so jacked up about stuff they're throwing away.

If its a small amount of trash you're throwing away for convinience, and it's on the curb, I don't mind.

If it's up on my property, or they are dumping alot of trash then yes I mind.

When mines full, I'll ask neighbors if ok, if they full, wife takes to her work or we'll have middle boy take to his work, I don't have a problem as long as they ask and if it's proper trash

I would ask why are they using my trash can; what's wrong with theirs? What is their bag leaks everywhere and no my trash can stinks? What if it's a dead body? Now I'm the suspect.

When leaving on vacation, I ask my neighbors if I could use theirs so I don't leave my cans out for days after the garbage pick up (clean sign for bad guys no one is home). But I would never just throw it in there without asking first. I would hope they would extend me the same courtesy.

I live in a neighborhood where everyone knows each other so it’s not really a big deal. My nextdoor neighbor and I actually take turns filling up each other’s recycle bins. Both our wives are addicted to Amazon and I feel like I’m always up to my knees in cardboard boxes.
In your situation I would much rather someone bag their dogs poop and use my trash can rather then leave it in my front yard. As long as they actually bag it!

When I was younger I lived in a not so nice neighborhood where people would “dump” trash and fill peoples cans. Because they were too cheap to pay for it themselves. Wasn’t the end of the world unless they left large items on the curb or filled it so much that you couldn’t get that inevitable last bag of trash in right before pick up.

I had a serial poop bag neighbor that would throw it on my lawn. Took the time to pick it up and then threw it near the bushes. Fine if someone uses my trashcan, better than the ground. I don’t like it if some random construction worker decides to dump their crap in my trashcan when it’s out on the street. But still, better than the ground.

I've been known to drop a bag of poop in someone else's trash can on garbage night. The bag is knotted up of course. I'd be fine if someone did the same, rather have them drop it in the can than in my yard.

I recall recently some wacko in Abilene TX was shot to death by another, 2 actually, wacko over a dispute regarding a mattress placed in a dumpster.

You just never know what's going to set someone off o_O

Having said that, if you wanted to put a bag of dog poop (3 log maximum) in my trash can, have at it.

I live in a cul-de-sac and will sometimes place a bag or two of trash into one of my neighbors cans if I cannot fit anything else into mine and they have room. I only do this the night before trash pickup while their can is out on the street and if they have room in it. :anonymous:.

Keep your poop out of my trash can! :argue:

Actually, I would not care and would likely not even notice. However, there are all kinds of people and if someone is protective of their trash can then that should be respected. Just use the next can down the road.

There was a housekeeper from another city dropping trash in the neighbor's can in our alleyway. I wouldn't have an issue with it but they dumped garbage in a recycle can and this kept happening over and over again.
I dug through their deposit and found an address label they had overlooked ~ I rang up their address on Google Maps and saw their car parked in front of their home. Looking around the neighborhood I found their vehicle parked a block away when they were working a job nearby. I posted a note on their windshield asking them to please dispose of their trash in the proper receptacle ~ never had another problem with them.
Some folks in my village have signs posted on their carts ~
"Please dispose of your animal waste elsewhere!"
Me? I'm fine with them using my cart ~ just use the proper cart to dispose of the pet poo, Please.

If it’s not huge stuff or a full trash bag, I don’t care. It’s trash, people are going to pick it up on garbage day. It’s better than throwing it on the street or in your yard.

BUT.... if people walk up my driveway to use my can....HELL NO

Anything bigger than a McDonald’s bag, USE YOUR OWN BIN!

If the poop isn’t bagged and knotted, I’m gonna find your house and TP it!

Other than that.....mi trash bin es su trash bin LOL

I was just going to ask that.

Probably meant stuff that isn’t illegal to throw in the landfill.

We have a 96 gallon trash can and can put out 5 large trash bags with our service.

We rarely even fill the trash can.
