About a year ago the wife curbed one of her TRD RIMS, not too big of a deal, ordered a new one, etc.

today she came home from the grocery store with the “ um honey I need to show you something.”

just need to know if the tire looks ok?

    any advice appreciated

    thanks

Needs to be replaced. Not worth the risk.

Fuck…that’s what I figured…all 4 new tires too. So this curb is gonna coast around $1400 with the new wheel

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
I would probably replace that tire, but a tire shop might give you a more professional opinion.

Just replace the single tire. Unless the tires are that worn out, in which case you would have needed to replace them anyway. $1,400 for tires? Shop around. That isn’t some super odd ball size that would warrant a $350 tire.

The car has 15,000 miles on it so I am just gonna replace all four so they have the same zero miles.

The wheel can probably be repaired and repainted. Back in my brief time selling cars we used a guy who came to the lot every week or two and repaired curb rashed wheels on BMW’s. He did excellent work on the cosmetics, so as long as that wheel isn’t mangled out of round it can be touched up!

Rubber cement the flap of rubber down, get the curb rash wheel touched up and move on with life.

On a well used off road vehicle we’d call it character….
