So I am looking for Toyota oem hard brake lines that go from the caliper to the flexible hose.

I am having a hard time finding them and can only find the flexible lines after the hard lines.

I am going to replace the calipers and flexible lines soon and figured in having new hard lines to ease the whole install.

Thanks. I have used his knowledge before.

I have also been reading about guys using Tacoma soft lines one the front. I would open to this as well. I think the hard lines are just a hassle. I had to have my wife hold the calipers as I swapped rotors lol

I called the stealership about those and they didn't know, I walked into the parts store and they didn't know either.... so I had to pull the line, plug it with an ear plug and tape... measure it at the local parts store... this is the line you're looking for.
    3/16 x 8 or 4.7mm x 20.3cm metric thread.

I would be happy to replace the factory steel lines with braided flexible lines.

what is the thread pitch and size of the flare nuts?
I think the 3/8” x 8” referees to lines size and length

Yes, its the with and length... I believe those are universal metric fittings as I bolted them on skeptically, and they threaded on fine without an issue... they came in already flared out with nuts. Picked them up as seen at Oreilly

Edit: there's standard and metric, I picked up the metric as most Japanese imports are metric.

By googling the part Number I found the thread pitch to be 10mm X 1.0

so I wonder if I find some steel braided lines in that pitch with male fitting that would work.

but I doubt the flex lines would be cheaper.

I think I found OEM replacements for $13 each. Just waiting for @Roman to chime in

Probably wont be cheaper... may be worth it though over time... less worry on snapping a line. In my case again

I am glad you said this. I had to go to two dealerships.

first one told me I was wrong and I had flex lines and wanted $34 each.

second dealership pulled it up on no time. $6 each!

thanks for everyone’s help. I just needed to find time and pop in a dealership

They go on your truck, they're just not the ones you need. Check out this diagram.

    Untitled.jpg

The ones they got you are the highlighted numbers 47314 and 47315. They go from the rubber lines to the unions that tie into the other hard lines. The highlighted numbers 47316 and 47317 go from the caliper to the rubber lines. They were close. :D

great info in here, thanks! i've never done brake lines before but am putting new rotors & pads on my old 270k clunker, figured i might as well dig in to replacing brake lines too. is it a pretty involved process? i know adding the braided SS flexible lines will help, is there any reason i should be replacing these hard lines too? my truck is heavy and i want to have good stopping power for our long road trips. and every other day too.

I only changed my hard lines because they snapped first the driver side, was a nightmare to figure out without the line, then the passenger side 6 months later. I'm at 270k as well.

is this like coil packs? if the hard lines are fine, just leave 'em?
