Sorry for your luck. I'm not sure what's going on but if it happened right after getting gas, it's probably bad gas. I'm not a 100% but just based on that info it's what I would assume it is.

If you are still driving try and burn that gas off without getting stranded. Otherwise suck that fuel out yourself and run a tank of the highest grade to help clean out any residual junk. Perhaps you filled up shortly after the fuel truck delivered and the tanks are all stirred up.

Pop your hood and make sure rodents havent chewed up anything.otherwise call toyota road side and have it picked up.

Ok so update. Limped it to about half a tank.. it was sputtering and shaking and after about a half a tank I added some heet to absorb the water. It's been fine now other than the engine light. Ran it all the way down. Filled up again now so lets see what happens.

It was a rinky dink station. It was absolutely pouring down rain.. so I feel like the water may have made it's way into the tanks. Wasnt familiar with the area and wasnt going to make it to another station. My own damn fault. Gonna slide by the toyota dealer here in okc and get diagnostics ran and clear the light. I'm sure it's a misfire of some sort. Still has traction control automatically disabled.

Well hopefully the codes pulled by toyota dont yield anything crazy and its a matter of resetting and pressing on with your travels. Heet is a good product i like using the lucas oil fuel injector and head lubricant every now and again. Its a carry over from my diesel days and ive also used seafoam with great success. If able it wouldnt hurt to drop that fuel filter out of there and start fresh with new fuel and new filter. Food for thought. Good luck happy :mudding:

Ok so all codes were air fuel related. Cleared and good to go. However the truck auto disabled traction control and will not turn back on

Save receipt. Water does some bad stuff to engines (doesn’t compress) and fuel injection systems. Lucky for you this is a gas motor. Diesel, this is a very large bill.

Stay away from mom and pops gas stations. This is very common with low turn over and not being able to keep up on tank maintenance.

I’d run some premium octane gas through it as well. GL
