So I purchased a prerunner bumper from this company, not gonna say the name giving time to remedy the problem. Sent my money on March 17, and gave me an approximate date of arrival of April 9. Emailed on April 9 to get an update, no reply. Called on April 11, no answer. Received a call an hour later, owner stated the bumper is in powder coat and will ship out the following week. April 18 sent another email for an update, owner called and stated the bumper was sent back to powder coating. May 2nd called owner directly, owner stated the bumper will ship out next week. May 8th I emailed the company that if my bumper isn’t shipped by the end of the week I wanted my money back. May 10 owner email me stating the bumper is packaged ready to go. May 11 received an email with tracking number and stated delivery date will be May 15. May 25 received bumper. When installing bumper would not align properly. So I immediately contacted owner, he somehow already knew what the issue was and stated I needed to cut the brace between where the bumper mounts. I was so pissed off, cause I specifically asked if the bumper was bolt on. I didn’t want any cutting involved. What would y’all do?

Thats a bummer man. Was there any mention of cutting with the bumper advertisement? I personally would have cancelled that order a long time ago. I would return it and get a refund. Give us the name so other member dont have to go through what you went through.

Don’t want to mention the name as of yet, giving time to fix the problem. He stated that he will be working on contacting someone in my area who would be interested in purchasing the bumper. I live in Hawaii, and the company is located in California.

Yeah shipping is a killer to hawaii. Hope they do you right. Are you wanting to replace the bumper or get refund?

He said he’ll find a buyer in my area and will refund my money. He also offered to make another bumper which requires no cutting, but I really don’t want to wait another 10 weeks.

    This. ^^^^

    1. Name the company.Totally put them on blast. They told you a date that you'd receive their product and they were a MONTH AND A HALF LATE!

    2. That said, sometime things can go wrong in powder coating that makes the end product look like crap. And companies know this and use it as an excuse. they were still 45/55 days late.

    3. They said it was 100% bolt on. It was not. And they knew about it! WTF!! They told you 2 lies. Light these guys up. Loss of sales and site traffic will hurt them more than having to fix their product.

    4. Now you have to ship it from Hawaii back to the mainland?

Straight up, this company done fucked up and there's no reason for you to cover for their mistake. In this age of social media, a few members on here bombarding their instagram account will fix your problem.

Get the refund. Once you have your money back...... release the hounds.

That's one of the worst things in the offroad industry is a fabricator that will take a customers money before supplying a product. A lot of them are robbing Peter to pay Paul.

This is what I’m ultimately waiting for, is just my money back. Now I regret not going with SDHQ, which was my first choice. Heck I could have even saved money going with ADD, but now their prices just went up. I got screwed either way.

Yup. The guy that runs the SDHQ vendor trailer is a friend of mine. If you had a problem with them I would call my buddy up every hour on the hour to make sure it got resolved. I'd do that just to bug the shit out of him.

A little of this and a little of that.
Get a refund and make him cover the cost of sending it back since it was his mistake.

Man, that sucks. I'm in the market for a new bumper as well and this is what I really wanted to avoid.

I know someone with the same issue..
I say ask a local fabricator how much it would cost to fix- to make it right. Get a partial refund from the place you got it from.

Shipping it is a waste of money and time.. you paid already with wasting your time. You can’t get a refund on that. He gave you a runaround from the beginning.

It’s understandable small shops get busy and lag on orders, but to send something out that isn’t fitting as described and is telling you now you have to do this and that.. false advertisement.

Perhaps if you released his name so everyone can contact him and tell him how he is losing potential business because his reputation is on the line based on how he intends to remedy his mistake. We already know his delivery time sucks. How far does he want it to go down?

I’m thinking of 2 options either just get my money back or have them make me a new bumper. Thoughts? Also how much time should I give for them to give my money back? Would it be reasonable to get my money back while the bumper is still in my possession? I really don’t want to wait for him to find a buyer while I sit here with a useless bumper.

Call him Tuesday and let him know that you want a name and phone number from someone local to buy the bumper by Thursday. You expect the refund same day as local pickup. If no name by Thursday, Friday it goes in the mail COD back to them with tracking signature, and insurance ( on their dime)

I say get your money back. Have them refund you and pay the shipping return on their dime. Go with another vendor. Sdhq seems very legit.

I would tell the guy to go pound sand. Its not your responsibility to deliver his products to somebody else. Is he paying you to do that? If he doesn't want to pay for shipping it back, have him give you your money back and throw the piece of shit in the volcano.

Emailed the owner earlier today stating I want my money back by Thursday. No response or call as of yet. If nothing by Thursday I’ll be releasing the name of the company. Keep you guys updated.

Dont know who else would buy it unless they like hacking into their ride. Sure that's a small market.

That is complete BS, late delivery and bumper not as described, full refund. If you paid with a credit card I would let them know you will be doing a charge back (if you even still can at this point). They should not be holding your money ransom while they possibly find someone else local to buy it. Poor business.
