Anyone ever hear of or use this product? NanoSparkle Cloth (buynanosparkle.com) My son took a magnetic wand to the door of my truck and left some nice scratches on it. I'm thinking this is snake oil, but figured I would see what others thought.

Read the reviews on Amazon. Even if the cloth had two sides of different grit level it would be impossible to do what it claims to do.

Post some pictures of the scratches. Probably can get away with a polishing to remove the scratches.

Not great photos since the truck needs a bath, I can feel the scratches a bit with my nails, I’m good mechanically but little to no experience when it comes to body work and handling scratches.

Ouch! Dont think that a polishing would take those scratches out.

I would go get some matching paint and a syringe and try filling it in.

Yeah I wasn’t too happy about it. I have a paint match touch up pen although they are probably a little too narrow to use that. I’ll give your route a go once the weather warms up a bit. Thanks.

I've seen videos of people using things like this to fill in chips, but not sure how it would work on a car door

I found this video in researching and the guy goes through the best tools depending upon where the scratches or chips are. Its about the 5-1/2 minute mark where he talks about the ones he uses and the one you linked to is in there as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLJnqiBxKtg&t=792s

If you're not into polishing yourself, I'd take your truck to a detailer and ask him to take a look. It's quite possible that either a polishing or light wet sanding could make it barely noticeable. I'd stay far away from trying to fix a long scratch with touchup paint.

You might try washing the area first and dry thoroughly. Then fill in the scratches with a touch-up applicator followed by scraping the surface of the scratch with something firm, but non-metallic, like a playing card. The card will remove the paint that didn't fill in the scratch. Wipe the card edge clean from the paint it removed and repeat on the other scratches. I've had pretty good results doing this. Hope this helps.

I tried polishing it myself once a few years back and it turned out beautiful until it hit the light just right and all I could see were holograms....that's when I decided exterior detail work other than washing and waxing is not for me. After that I took it to a detailer and they corrected it for me. I may go back there and see what they say. I just don't want them to do a paint correction because isn't that just removing some of the clear coat? Obviously I want the scratches to not look so obvious, but the big thing for me is just avoiding oxidation down the road as I would like to keep this truck as long as possible.

Any decent detailer should have a paint depth meter and be able to tell just how much clear is left and what can be done.

I agree, looks like clear coat scratches. This is very common with dark colors, especially black. The fine scratches will show up white, some times a little chalky - it’s the clear coat against a dark color. I bet a good detailer can fix that.
