    hey all,
needed to correct alignment on my new to me 08 6" procomp lifted tundra. ordered new uca's from toytec. the truck is new to me and i've ordered a boatload of parts. i hadn't been tracking them as everything had been arriving quickly. about a week after ordering the ucas i dug up the tracking info and they had showed delivered. i definitely did not get them. i live in the country in bfe i'm 100% sure they were not stolen from my porch. checked with my neighbors and filed a fedex claim. fedex was awful to work with. awful. i reached out to toytec to see if they could help. Liz reached out to their fedex rep and pushed for me. fedex was giving toytec the run around for about 4 days. toytec went out on a limb and resent me a new set and informed me they would figure it out with fedex.

this is the best customer service i have ever experienced. period. if looking for parts i'm 100% sure you will not get better customer service. period.

They are stand up guys over there. From one company to another, this is how all businesses should be operated. We are around because of the customers.

Had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with the guys from Toytec at the CA Offroad Expo.

My experience was the opposite. I ordered some wheel spacers and then changed my mind and asked to cancel the order right away well before it had shipped. I discovered they charged my card before the item even shipped and then wanted to charge me a 5% fee to cancel. I have never heard of a respectable company operating that way. Doubt I will do anything further with them if I can help it.....

Let me get this strait. You're upset with a vendor for following their policies clearly listed on their website because you changed your mind?

    https://www.toyteclifts.com/toytec-lifts-news/warranty-and-return-policy

If I was toytec, I'd be glad to never have your business again.

Nah - I ain't mad or upset. Just thought it was odd. Sure, I prolly shoulda read more clearly their policies, but I haven't ever really dealt with companies recently who operate like that. I understood that order hadn't been pulled or shipped or anything, all they had to push was the "cancel" button. Again, not upset, not worth it, just sharing how things went with my order. In other words, given the choice I would prolly go with someone who had a more favorable policy/system in place, perhaps that's better for everyone, including you and Toytec.

@Sean266 - yeah, I think that was what it was. Again, I am not arguing what their policy says, I am just suggesting that I have generally not been charged anything in the past unless the company actually pulls the order and/or ships it. It is their policy, and their right to set it, I just wouldn't regard a company with that sort of policy and/or an unwillingness to to bend a little if they legitimately did not do much work as exceptional in terms of service. Just my opinion, well aware that others disagree.

As for fed-ex, they are the worst. I'm also in a rural area and they have damaged stuff several times. When ordering stuff delivered, I will not buy anymore if UPS isn't an available option

We have some parts suppliers that charge a flat $50 restocking fee even for small orders. It's good to know exactly what you want when you order. Keeps people from wasting time. Time is money.

I have the exact opposite problem. My UPS driver ate lead paint as a kid and lived under electrical transmission lines.

Fedex is the worst by far. Countless times they have dropped off packages to the building next door to my office which happens to be a job center where a bunch of crackheads who are looking for daily work hangout.

Im sure he thought it was a great idea to leave my BAM exhaust with a bunch of people that ride bikes to work.

@matluth - I totally agree that no one should be wasting anyone's time. My understanding was that the order hadn't even been pulled, and there was no restocking to do. Again, it's their policy and they can do what they want. I just wouldn't regard a company who deals that way on a retail basis as having great customer service. Maybe this industry generally doesn't provide great service, so this is par for the course, but I doubt a lot of other retail (I guess Toytec does a lot of B2B too so maybe that's why they have this policy) places would survive if they had this sort of policy in other markets. I am new to this whole world/industry so it just took me by surprise a little. I doubt Cabela's would be as successful if they charged someone 5% if they decided to go a different route on a fishing pole or lure and wanted to return/exchange the one they bought especially before even leaving the store with it.......

I totally agree with what you said. A business can set whatever policy they want but in retail business bending backward a little to make the customers happy will be rewarded down the line (especially it costs you little to nothing )

@GoHuskers - yeah, it would have been nice for them to say that their policy is normally a cancellation fee, but they will waive it this time since they hadn't even pulled it (or whatever). As it stands now, I likely won't order from them again (I acknowledge that others have stated that Toytec is prolly fine with that) and I have told a couple others about it as well. It's a business decision they made, they can do whatever works for them, but my brother will now probably order elsewhere as well (his is a fairly substantial order of a suspension lift on his Tacoma). Again, a business decision they are welcome to make, but it may have some impacts down the road.....

    Well...
my Fed Ex driver was born addicted to Meth AND heroin, was moving on to LSD and grass by grade school. On entering junior high he was sneaking cigarettes and cheating on chemistry tests.
By the time he finished high school he was picking his nose and chewing his finger nails! Now he slouches when sitting, has bad posture and chews with his mouth open. Oh the pathos, such is the pathway of gateway drug hell...

Ok, I gotta take it back. Toytec contacted me today and refunded me the additional amount that was originally held out. Glad to see them do this, was a nice gesture and shows they do want their customers to be happy. Good stuff!
