Wanted to post up some photos and details of the Sequoia to contribute a little content to the Sequoia section.

I shopped for a white Limited with tan interior for a few weeks and fortunately found a nice 2014 one owner southern truck with full dealer service records documented in the “Toyota Owners” website with 80k miles. I wanted a 2014 because it has a few updates over the 2013 and older, and the Limited gave me the bells and whistles I wanted without the air ride suspension and 2nd row console that I think gets in the way on the Platinum.

On to the build... Learning from previous Tundras I’ve owned I pretty much copied what I had and liked. I went with the proven Bilstein 6112s up front set at 1.9 and opted for a tad more height by adding the 1/4” shims. In the rear, after doing plenty of research, the Dobinsons 1.75” shocks and springs was the only option that was proven to work ideally on the Sequoia’s IRS. I also added the Firestone airbags to ensure a level ride when I tow from time to time. I highly recommend doing the airbags because it’s an easy install while putting in the new springs and minimal investment. I also repurposed my Rock Warrior wheels with 285/75 KO2s. I believe out of the 3 vehicles I’ve had them on (LC200, Tundra, and Sequoia), they look the most natural on the Sequoia.

Addressing the cosmetics, I went with the TRD Pro grill, TRD skid plate for a little more protection and easier oil changes (plus they look cool), splurged on the Morimoto XB LED headlights, I liked the Diode Dynamics yellow fogs so much on the Tundra so I had to go with them on this build as well, and finally removed the factory running boards to complete the look.

So far I’m really enjoying this thing. The ride is a little stiffer than it was factory, and handling seems more controlled. This means a little “bumpier” on back roads, but still just as smooth on the highway.
Edit 5/12: Took this thing on a high speed run (70+ mph) down some nice straight gravel back roads with plenty of dips, potholes, and washboards yesterday. I'm happy to report that it performed flawlessly and even better than the Tundra with a similar setup. It was smooth over the terrain and well controlled. I tried to get it sideways several times (with all the nannies disengaged) and it just stuck like glue. It's nice having the "all wheel drive" option without the center diff locked that you can't do in the Tundra. It makes it feel much more like the Land Cruiser in loose stuff.

Looks great. Where you'd source your TRD Pro front (grille, surround and bulge, correct?). Looking to make some cosmetic mods to my 2017 Sequoia Limited.

Thanks! I buy all of my OEM Toyota parts from www.toyotapartsdeal.com because you can easily search part numbers by your VIN, and they source parts from whatever dealership in the nation has the best price and parts are drop shipped directly from that dealership.

Thanks! Absolutely, and that's why I went with it over another Tundra. Unfortunately the wife's Land Cruiser was getting a little cramped for the family on longer trips where we have to pack for several days. Getting rid of the Land Cruiser wasn't an option so my vehicle had to become the family hauler for the long trips. So far it has surpassed my expectations.

Thanks & sorry for the threadjack.

Added a Yakima Skinny Warrior to the roof. Went with the narrow version to have space to throw the Kayak or a cargo box on the other side. Would love to have a full roof rack replacement like Gobi, but they’re too expensive for me to justify, and the lead time is ridiculous. Loving them. Took a little bit to get them adjusted properly, but the quality is superb and installation was a breeze.

    Appreciate it.

Be aware though that 6112's set at 1.9 up front with no change in the rear may make you a little nose high. If you have a Platinum you could make up the difference with your factory air suspension or add the small spring spacers in the rear if you don't have a Platinum and don't want to change out your factory rear springs.

Good to know but I’m getting Dobinsons 1.75” springs and shocks for the rear......I just canceled the fronts from my kit I ordered and will hopefully get the rears by July. The place I ordered the 6112’s from (Bossoffroad) last night already has them shipped and I should have them Wednesday! :eek2:

Okay good deal. It was the opposite when I ordered all my stuff. I received the Dobinsons within a couple weeks, and the 6112s from Boss took almost 3 months.

I keep going back and forth on selling to get something different, but at the end of the day this is such a great and versatile vehicle with tons of space at a good value.

You have Dobinsons 1.75 in the Rear and Bilstein up front. Any reason you didn't go Dobinsons up front? Have you been happy with them in the rear? i'm considering as well

    Couple reasons...
I liked the 6112s on my previous set ups.
More than that, as silly as it may seem, I didn't want to see the Dobinson's aqua blue springs up front. They aren't quite as visible in the rear.
