    Hi gang,

Well, last week had my Rigid Industries 30 " SR2 combo bar with the R.I. mounting brackets installed.
Since then an annoying squeak has developed. The shop has readjusted and checked everything. When I hold the light itself, the squeak will go away when rocking the truck. Once I let go of it the squeak comes back.
So we have contacted R.I. and just waiting for a response back to see if they have any solutions or suggestions.
The light itself is great and could not be happier. I'm wondering if the brackets are sufficient which I would imagine they are.
I'll keep you guys updated as to the fix or whatever the issue is...

Rubber washers at connection points might do the trick

Thanks Brian! This is one of the reasons why I like this site. I was thinking about that.

Brian brings up a good potential fix for the squeak. The only other thing I can think of is the possibility that the bumper plastic is making contact with the light bar perhaps.....

Great point Ron. I was going to look for rubber type tape and apply it to the bottom between the bar and trim.
    Thanks for the input!

You are welcome, Steve. There may be just enough flex in the bumper plastic that a light contact could make it squeak against the bar. I know you will get it figured out!

On further evaluation, it appears that he brackets were rubbing the cross member of the truck. Where the bracket comes up you'll see a spot on each side rubbed down. So I readjusted the brackets and I can tell you that the tolerances were tight!
I went about my errands and so far no squeak.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that this was it...

Keep us posted! Was thinking of doing a similar setup in the future with the rigid mounts.

    Hopefully...LOL!
You bet Mike. Trick is once you get the bracket in place, push up on it and snug up the bolts. With a little contorting it can be done.
If not, the grinder is coming out. Rigid tech support and another fabricator looked at the pics and confirmed.
A good sign was when I put the light back in the brackets, it tilted downward. The light was free wheeling...sort of, if that makes any sense.

I have the exact same setup, same squeak, had to losen the nut and pull down the braket or the entire lightbar while someone tighten the nuts. OR you can put some white grease where cross member and braket rubs. I did that and squeak went away immedaitely until it rained few times and ran through the car wash. But to get rid of sound permanently, you have to remove the braket and shave that area where it rubs...

You may want to let Rigid know. I didn't think I would be the only one with the issue. I did contact them and Alex was my point of contact.
    Thanks for the heads up.

Grinder was my first suggestion. But I guess if you want to pussyfoot around, rubber tape and washers would do just fine......sissy.
