Tracking the new tires installed yesterday. 91300 miles.

    Size LT275/70/18 load index 125.

I purchased a couple used tires and two new. Total cost 776.00

So far, very smooth, good stiff sidewall that holds heavier vehicles. No weather to date except dry pavement.

    Rain:
New- This one was pretty easy to get right away. We have had our monsoon season a little early this year. The day these were tested out, we received 3.5" of rain that day. Wet traction was very good. I even tried to break the tires free and had to use a fair amount of pedal to accomplish this. On the tune I was using the truck is ~500hp/980tq. Needless to say, the tires grabbed pretty well for the conditions.

In hard rain with deep standing water, these tires tend to wander a bit. Normal rain that isn't pooling up, not a problem at all.

    Muddy road:

Mud is decent. It's an all terrain tire, so I don't expect to be mobbing through mud holes with any success.

    Towing:

I would say these are very stable like a good quality Michelin tire. Towing 9000 lbs was controlled with no sway or spongy feel. Very "planted & controlled" if I had to put some word to describe the experience.

Second tow was at max capacity. 14500 lbs and the tires performed great. After 40 miles on the highway at 70-75 mph at 85*f...tire temp was 129-134*F. Stability was the same at lighter loads.

Snow: Snow performance has always been pretty good with the KO2's (imo). Traction and braking was very controlled. Ice/wet ice was a little as expected...slick with some sliding.

Yes I did and will tell you how.

    www.simpletire.com

Sign up and if you have military even better. I get a text about once a week with discounts (5-30%) with a 5% military discount. Find the tire you want and put that in the cart. In this case I was ~600.00 for two tires after all taxes and fees (I had 10% discount).

I went into Discount tire and asked for a price match. They won't be beat out I guess. Those are 322.00 tires each.

I'm not going to lie, it kinda upsets me that I have to play companies against each other instead of giving me a good fair price all the time. If DT can lower the price 122.00 each and still make money...that says something. That's saving 488.00 on a set of tires. That is more than I paid for two of these tires.

Yeah, that's just the way it goes nowadays. Discount tire has great customer service, and most of their brick and mortar stores are good, but damn if their prices are almost never very good unless you price match.

I got quoted $2,875 for 4 wildpeaks 276/60/20 LT today and $2,100 from the other shop ACROSS THE STREET from them.

    it pays to comparison shop.

There's a reason every manufacturer has made the push to create these aggressive-sidewall, all-terrain tires. Just an amazing looking tire. Just like what apple did for phones and computers.
I had a great experience on my 2014 DC with those in that size. Congratulations on the deal too. Wow.

That is what I did or you can use a print out.

Simple tire isn't a bad way to go either. They ship to the tire shop or keep at the local FedEx store for you to pick up.

I've also heard that the KO2's are starting to get discounted because the KO3 is supposed to come out "soon". There have already been some leaked photos.

I've had a really good experience with my KO2's so far. They catch a lot of shit online but I'm perfectly happy and I love the look. If the KO3's are an improvement in any way then I'll buy those next.

I have never had a problem with them either. Only reason I haven't in a while is due to living in a place that didn't require them. Our new home requires AT tires and chains are kept on hand to help out.

I have these on my Tundra. I put them on before the winter and spent most weekends driving I70 to Frisco and back with the family. My favorite all season CO tire and they look cool.

These are my fourth set of KO2s between two trucks and I have very few complaints. Biggest complaint is the loss of winter traction well before the 50k.

I'll give DT a call when I get a minute. I'm curious. I'll report back with the exact mileage.

My truck started to slide in slushy and icy conditions at the end of last winter. I knew they were winter dead, so I replaced them before the snow started up again.

    Too many, but not enough....
I got a little over 20k miles on my KO2s and no complaints. Might have to replace in a couple years since they are beat up from hard miles. These are my 3rd set with 2 vehicles and I liked the original KOs too. Glad to see there are some discounts to be had on KO2s in case the KO3s are ridiculously expensive.

The KO3s have been coming out "soon" for a long time, I'm curious to know the price point.

I keep telling myself I want to try other ATs but I keep going back to what has served me so well. They are tough as nails.

Aaaahh, gotchya'... I knew it was hitch related but didn't think of a gooseneck.

Pretty ingenious the way you make the equipment hauler a utility/material trailer too.

It's ghetto, but it works. Hauled a lot of material with it.

My mechanic said they were on their last rotation before they were swapped out for a new set. Not sure of the tread depth.

DT says I got new KO2s on December 5th. Old KO2s had 28k miles. About 15k of those miles were towing our TT around, so I'm sure that had an impact on wear.

I have been swapping out tires around 6 to 7/32nds due to weather related traction issues as well (no matter the tire brand).

I think I would only feel comfortable in July with those tread depths. And only if it didnt rain either. 8-10/32nds is when I start my shopping.

And here I thought folks looked at me sideways for never running below 5/32’s… I can usually time it so that I get new shoes right before winter shows up but late summer and early fall are usually pretty dry here.

I also notice a bit of winter traction degradation around 7/32’s but it’s usually not bad until 5/32’s.

Well, I got the wildpeaks put on today. Initial impression:

The wildpeaks, 275/60/20’s LT, ride a little bit more rough than the K02’s I had on there (also LT). Though, they seem grippier on pavement. The K02’s, with an empty bed, backing up an asphalt driveway at 55 degree F outside temp, would squeal EVERY single time. The wildpeaks did not. They protested slightly less in the round about as well and didn’t squeal from a stop. That said, they are new (slightly more tread depth than the K02’s as well) and the K02’s had 30k on them before meeting their demise from bad tire wear. K02’s were rotated fairly regularly, alignments kept in check and all suspension components are tight. 2 of them had, from cursory glance, about 10k miles left in them but the other two were toast.

the K02’s were killer in the snow, terrible int he rain( no rain channels will do that) and took a beating from sharp rocks and some higher speed direct impacts that I’ve personally seen blow out passenger car tires. They got a little loud toward the end, most likely from uneven tire wear

Updated 1st post in rain. Heavy rain with standing water gets a little sporty. Not horrible, but more attention to speed is advised.
