Will post and update as it's only day one. The truck was dropped off at the dealership at 10am and went into inspections, cleaning, adding door guards, adding tint, and getting a full tank of gas. I was there at 1:30 to sign a check and docs and was out the door at 3pm after shooting the shit with the manager I go through.

When I showed up there were a few folks in the delivery bay taking pics. While I was setting up the connectivity a salesman brought two guys over to start checking out the car not realizing I was in it and owned it. Let them get in though and check it out b/c why not.

Went from a 2018 Sequoia SR5 no frills to a Limited Crewmax 2WD. Added tech and advanced package, all weather, and pano roof. Design looks great on the exterior as you walk around and while folks like to cry about the front end, again no issue for me and like its look from any angle. Back seats are a great size. As for the front, it feels huge even in the parallel shift from a Sequoia to a Tundra. At 6'5 and 265lbs I have ample room in that driver's seat. Leg, shoulder, hip, and head. I was worried the pano would lower the roof a bit but no issues, I don't even have the seat as low as it can go.

Did a quick drive home on the expressway, later a drive to the in laws through neighborhoods, and then out for dinner and errands. The transition in power from the 10 speed is smooth and significantly better than the 5.7 V8 on the SUV. The TT boost when accelerating and passing is great. Not sure how much is engine sound vs speaker sound, but IDGAF as it sounds great. Ride is smooth, felt no bumps from the bed of the truck. Here in FL the cooled seats are a very nice update for me. The headlights and video rear view are great. Guided sensors for reverse and parking are nice as well. Wasn't sure on the door arm rest and naturally found myself using it.

Wife is 5' and had to climb up into the truck, she can't wait for running boards. My daughter is slightly taller and same thing. My son being the shortest, hopped right in no problem lol. Both kids felt like the back was massive for them. My wife had to raise her seat a lot as she could barely see over the dash. Haven't had a truck since before my youngest was born so my oldest was excited to be able to climb up into the bed of the truck and jump around like a little kid despite being 14.

Downsides so far is turning as I am used to the smooth turning of the SUV. I will adjust and the truck will likely loosen up a bit as I am in the wear in period. Big arms however for me wish the upper tray of the center console was not there and padded. Still getting used to layouts and the infotainment stuff but not a negative yet.

Time will tell on all things and we will see where this truck takes me. Will add posts as time goes. For those trashing posts as never gen 3'ers, just avoid this thread and save the rest of us a little time.

Has me laughing! I know it’s a problem for some, but I agree with you.

Good on you letting the guys at the dealership check it out.

    Congrats on the truck.

Yeah most folks won’t really get to sit or test drive for awhile. Hard to say no especially if situations were reversed.

Few more things now that I remember. Seats...I have the softex and for me it's my first venture away from fabric as I hate leather, but with the vented/heated seats I opted to go for it. The design is great, feel is good. I slide a little in them sometimes shifting which is new. Comfort wise I can see where some folks say they are harder, but so are all of my new pieces of furniture. The longer I sat in the chair and the further into the day I got, the less I noticed it. I think in time there will be a little more give, but otherwise nothing to gripe about. Again at my height and weight, it should still be pretty good for smaller folks.

The cigarette lighter port behind the screen on the dash is a tiny detail that I appreciate. I have always had a cord for my radar detector running down my dash as long as I have had a car. Its nice to have all of that out of the way and not visible. I also appreciated the first aid kit that I found in the car. It wasn't on a spec sheet but there is a small black bag in the back floor board and it was the kit. I always have a kit in the car and its nice to see one added that matched the interior. Truck bed lights are great with the LED upgrade as part of the package. The QI as well is better than I have seen in other models. My wife has a hard time getting it to stay in position on her Rav4 and in the Tundra it instantly connected and never budged during the drive. The angle and side bracket for positioning was smart. Interior lighting is dim, it is a bit of a spotlight rather than cabin light. It is the trade off on that roof. I think someone will find a way to add cabin accent light with LEDs.

JBL....night and day difference. I have always had standard sound in my cars. We got the JBL with my wife's Rav4 and enjoy it. You don't have to turn it up much to get great sound out of it. If you are going to spend time on the road, I would consider the upgrade. The number of speakers, placement, and quality of sound helps evenly fill the cabin.

Great reviews. Great looking truck. It is pretty clear that you most likely will not be doing any off-roading. I will ask anyway. Could you see where one might be able to add tow hooks ?

Great review and appreciated! You mentioned your radar detector plugging in behind screen and i'm looking forward to that as well for the same reason. Question though, did you find a good mount spot for your detector? I have a Tundra on order and am curious what you ended up doing. I've always preferred mounting to top of dash with velcro tape vs window mount so not sure how you do it. Pics would be great if able.

@jimfish98 Could you please post a picture of the sticker on the drivers side door jam? The one with the load carrying capacity? Thanks

Standard window mount works for me, right in front of the plug, low on the windsheild.

Awesome! While I have no intention of upgrading / when I do it will be a 3/4 or 1 ton because of our intended future capacity needs, sweet truck! Very interested to hear from 3rd gen owners as they get them and spend time with them. Real world experiences, mileage, towing performance, etc etc. Looking forward to some day test driving one even though I'll probably never pull the trigger on one. Plan to keep the 08 for a LONG time

The skinny armrests on the center console were a concern of mine, which you confirmed can be an issue. Hopefully the aftermarket will quickly come up with a full console cover where foam can be placed underneath. My buddy has a nice full cover on his 2020.

Yeah, I felt the same when I saw the design of the center console. I thought the pads looked too thin. As you said hopefully aftermarket will have a solution. I would prefer a fully padded top like my 2013.

@jimfish98 compared to the Sequoia, how is the cabin noise while driving? At highway speeds, how does the wind noise compare and the overall road noise?
