    Hey guys

Quick question-a local shop posted these for sale $600 for the set of 4. They were on his truck for 3000 miles and he jumped to a big brake kit and it took some material off the backside of the wheel so he had to move to a bigger wheel.

Does anyone have any input regarding the structural integrity of the wheels after this? Should i stay away from these? Or is it purely aesthetic? All 4 wheels are like this.

See pics below. Last picture is the worst damage. Doesn’t seem like a lot of material came off other than the finish

not that bad but if you wait Black Friday sales, you can score the same set new for $650 ish tax included from 4WP
If you really want the set I would have him lower the price for sure.

I’m not in a huge rush - wanted to jump to +25 and a wider wheel and figured this was an opportunity to do just that. Going to see if he will accept a lower price.

Unless you can lathe them somehow and grind it down equally all the way around, the wheels probably won't balance correctly. Might not be really bad but probably not worth the risk. Like @TheBeast said, if you find them on sale, you can get brand new ones for a few more bucks. I had similar damage to my wheels from touching my lca skids and now my wheels are out of whack.

Thank you for the input. Don’t really want to take on any machine work to get them back to where they need to be if i don’t have to...

Good lord that’s a lot of weights. I understand tires can hurt that, but that’s a shit load of weights. I would be worried they’ll be a bitch to balance especially now since the outermost part of the wheel is missing material where the barrel is the most crucial part of a balanced wheel.

Spend a few hundred dollars more and buy new ones.
