Moving in the coming months from Maryland to Texas/Ok. We are going to hit up New England (all the way to Maine), the midwest/Great Lakes, Montana, Wyoming, Grand Canyon, and then stop in SW CO for hunting in November.

Two adults, four kids (12, 11, 6, 3), two dogs. We'll be in the Tundra and Yukon XL with 22 Forest River 28VBXL and utility trailer. We love hunting, fishing the outdoors.

    All suggestions welcome.

Good luck on the move! If you're in the Oklahoma/ Texas area and like camping/mountain biking I recommend Palo Duro Canyon for a weekend trip.

Some of my family live in Elk City. Palo Duro looks pretty. Is there year round water in the rivers/creeks?

Yes, canyon is fed by the city's waste water treatment plant (so don't drink ).

I'll be sure to fish for the brown trout then, but not eat them.

I would advise taking I495 around Boston unless you want to venture there through the traffic.

Not sure how long you’re planning to stay in ME for, or how far up you’ll go, but if you plan on going to the Baxter State Park area you could hike Katahdin (people usually stop for a photo on the Keep Maine Beautiful rock), fish Newsowadnehunk falls and watch the rafters as you fish, and enjoy small town living of Millinocket. I hope to retire there some day..

Western ME is beautiful, too. If you need pointers for that just let me know..
