Mountain lion in my neighborhood

At 7:50 we got report that there was a mountain lion in our neighborhood second time this year this is crazy

 

Be safe they can get pretty swole

That thing looks like it does push ups in between feedings

 

I wish we had one in our area. Might help cut down on the damn coyote infestation we have.

 

There's no stray anything around here. Fckrs tore my next door neighbor's Jack Russel to pieces on their front lawn last nite. Sounded horrible. I tried warning them about leaving the dog out after dark.

Ran into one of these taking a leak in the middle of the night camping in the Redwoods. It was growling at me but never saw it. Had to be about 10-15ft away. Scared the piss right back into me. Happy to be alive

 

They need to reintroduce the catamount back in Vermont! They played a big role in the echo system. Be careful though

 

Nice kitty. It’s just out looking for a buddy to play with. You’re a Tundra owner, so it figure that you must be the Big Kahuna it has been hearing about. Challenge it to an arm wrestling duel.

 

Catch and release it in Downtown LA. Watch tent cities move away.

 

You gotta learn to drive with the fear. And there ain’t nothing more god damn frightening than a live cougar in the car.

Did you guys see the story about the jogger in Fort Collins that got attacked? He struggled with it until he grabbed a rock and blugended it to death. All over the news here a couple of months ago. Crazy!

Wildlife professional here... The problem is we keep building in their habitat. So what was once their (or their parents) hunting grounds is now houses. So they're just roaming where they know. And as for coyotes, yes the country is overrun with them. They harvest half a million a year across the country and don't even put a dent in the population. I know here in the pacific northwest that cougar population numbers are nearly out of control.

 

Hate to say it but if you don’t like a mountain lion in your backyard you better move. Kind of like sharks , they’re there, they are always there. You just have to find them and they are good at hiding, then they find you first.

 

It may be more like a "The Walking Dead" scene and get eaten alive...... LOL

 

My cousin killed one of these beasts a while back. I'd rather let them live but I'm not going to get butthurt about it.

I did a trip in the High Sierra a few years ago, and was watching some YouTube vids on my upcoming hike. There was one hiker who told about hearing a blood curdling scream for help one night. A camper was apparently surrounded by two mountain lions. The pleas for help went on for a few minutes before he and another hiker decide to go help the guy. They got there in time to scare off the two deer that the guy mistook as mountain lions.

 

Where is a good pack of hounds when you need em?
