Mountain Climbing - 14ers - Photos

    I started climbing 14ers three years ago and I have 51/58 done in Colorado. I am planning on finishing the last seven next year then move on to other peaks in CO and around the country.

    Favorite Outdoor Camping Experience:
    Chicago Basin is a great experience once you get a few 14ers under your belt. You take a train from Durango for 2.5 hours to the middle of nowhere. From there you hike another 6 miles to your camp. You can then climb four 14ers from that camp. You then hike back out the 6 miles and catch another train back to Durango.

    First time Mountain:
    If you haven't done a 14er but want to start I would recommend Grays/Torreys, Bierstadt or Quandary. All of these are Class 1 walkups that will give you a feel for elevation and see if you want to do more.
