Mobile 1 or Valvoline synthetic here. Any synthetic oil will be fine.

Still in 'new enough I take it to dealer', but I like Castrol synthetic. Just always looks good before and after oil change, so I like it.

Check out project farm on YouTube. Does extensive research. If you want spoilers, pennzoil ultra platinum and amsoil were the two top performers (pennzoil being the champion) it’s nice to have objective results on a subjective topic.

Don't get hook winked by BIG OIL. All you need is Costco's Kirkland brand. $34 (+tax, title & delivery) gets you 10 quarts. And you must run 5W30.

And because you're gonna ask next: 275/65/20.

Always been partial to Mobil 1 but have used Pennzoil and Valvoline without issue.

However in the multiple Toyota’s (4Runner, 3 RAV4’s, and Tundra) I have owned where 0w20 is used, TGMO is by far the quietest especially when getting close to 10k. Due to the stupefied state of the country it’s been very difficult to acquire at the locate dealerships.

And ironically enough, Kirkland Signature usually gets good reviews there too ;)

Personally, I'm currently running Amsoil Signature, mostly because I know a guy who sells it. That's literally my best reason. I've run several lube place brands, whatever they use, Shell Rotella, Pennzoil, synthetic, normal, blah blah blah. I think you'll find that any oil is really fine as long as it's the correct weight.

I've heard (although not personally - see what I did here?) that 5W30 can quiet down some of the engine noises. But here in WI, I only change my oil typically once/year so the 0W20 as recommended by Toyota is fine.

I go around to the qwickee oil change places and buy the used oil out of their collection tank.

Big Oil ain't gonna take Spraynard for a sucker anymore.

Walmart here but Kirkland if on sale for oil but I always run OEM filters. This combo on my Lexus's and Tundra's for the last 12 years.

I’ve broken in my 05 with Royal Purple break in (10w30) for the 1st 2,000 miles, changed it every 500 miles- then RP’s ASE approved 10w40 while under warranty- now with 110,000 miles I use RP 10w40 HPS (same as in my 2013 “Crate Mark V- 454ci” from GM) I had it installed in 2013, 42,000 miles, the “K-2500” with 4:11’s 4x4 holds 70lbs. Oil pressure-all day. My Tundra likes the HPS (10w40 in summer, 5w30 HPS in winter) but I’m in extreme N.E. Wyoming, weeks of below 0. RP has always been good with all my gas engines, HPS seals around the rings (high Zinc & phosphorus) & @ $10 a Qt. $15 for RP filter, I use their Octane Booster with non-ethanol 91 Octane gas. But to each their own

If you're not using amsoil or royal purple with 2500 mile oil changes your engine will catastrophically fail at 32,482.764 miles, your seat cushions will implode, and your hair will fall out.

    You've been warned.

Did an oil change today - hard to believe how much quieter it idles on 5w30. I don’t think brand matters a whole lot as I do 5k changes but I run M1 for $26 / 5qt from Walmart with an OEM filter.

Magnatec actually works pretty good. Gets louder the older the oil is, but definite difference.
