I installed the new morimoto xb headlights on my 2016 tundra limited. For those of you that have installed them.Does anyone know how to make the DRL say bright all the time.Mine dim when you turn the park lights or headlights on.

I believe that's a safety feature. My OEM lights have always done that, my 2015 platinum headlights lower led strip would dim, and when I installed 2018 LEDs the harness is wired so they will dim. I'd stick with it as is.

That is a safety feature wired into the truck to cut power down on the DRLs when the headlights are on. :)

Is there a way to bypass that?

The harness that is supplied that they instruct to add to your fuse box will provide full power to the DRL’s at all time. The only problem is they never turn off. As soon as the ignition is turned on the DRL’s get power and they are on until you turn off the ignition

Disclaimer: These are new, the information provided by MANY different distributors and the customers that have the lights already are not in line with one another

I have that harness. You are correct they stay on all the time. But even with that harness installed as soon as you turn on the park lights or headlights the drl dim.I would like to find a way around that.

I am also looking for the same mod. I have looked around but no one seems to have an answer. I do see the “safety” thing mentioned quite often. The OP I’m assuming and I as well would be willing to settle for always on, however and again I’m assuming, but I drive with park lights on all the time. Visible for safety and I love rockin my yellow fogs all the time. Problem is we get dim DRLs. We don’t need the DRLs bright all the time to blind drivers at night, just in the day time to be more visible. Some of us tundra owners are going for a specific “look”, mine includes nice bright DRLs in concert with my bright (SAE DOT approved) yellow fogs.

So if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Alot of them
The only time that they are full brightness is when all of the lights are off. They must dim due to DOT regulations.

I think that would be too bright with headlights on.

Again... I’m fine with them being dim with the headlights on. I just want them to be bright when the park lights are on. As I drive with park lights and fog lights on during the day. And the drls look really dim, compared to the fogs.

P.S. I also live in Washington state... 60% of people here, drive with their high beams on, all night long.

I don't think there is a way to do it without burning something up or decreasing the life expectancy of the leds.

@PR_02 @Glennjc1978 Do those XB headlights retain the tilt feature (ability to point the lights up/down)?
