One thing I’m not sure about is a single green wire. It comes with a cap on the connector. I’m not using it and TRS wasn’t able to tell me what’s its used for. They’re looking into it.

Sorry. I thought he had it. If you have oem led then the single green plug should be used in conjunction with the miltipin connector. If you have halogen drl’s then it’s not used.

Yup. TRS says it’s to dim the DRLs when the headlights come on. That plug isn’t used for trucks that came prewired for LED DRLs.

Seems like you non LED DRL guys might have the option for them to be bright all the time if you don’t plug it in?

Loving all the input on people actually getting these and figuring these out. Been out of the loop, took these on a 2300 mile roadtrip back to Texas. So far, performance wise, spot on. However did hit torrential rain down here with pretty significant street flooding today. We'll see how these hold up and dry out...definitely got water, condensation in them. I know back home will dry them out

Wow.....I get that you hit some serious rain but i have never had condensation in an OEM headlight that wasn't damaged in some way. This is something I would have never thought would be a problem or something to even consider when buying these. I'm sure they will dry out, but for $1000+ they shouldn't get wet inside. Not trying to bash your new lights, or morimoto or TRS, (I have their fogs and love them) but for me, this issue would be unacceptable, and honestly should put a stop sale on these lights for morimoto retailers.

Before we get carried away, these were essentially prototype versions before the full manufacturing process went (and still is) underway. That's why the significant discount I got along with working with them. I wouldn't bash morimoto or TRS at the moment. Before I even received them they offered to swap out with 'release' versions when they have them readily available for no cost at all. It is something I'll mention, as I saw a bit of butyl packed on the corner of one during install. Can't remember which one, but if I had to guess ...

All-in-all, it was severe street flooding with a wake from the tires onto the top of the windshield. I have personally seen headlamps do this, being lived down here my entire life with this type of weather...it goes away, but never really goes away if you know what I mean. We'll see how they do, if anything can keep them dry it's Denver Colorado

I totally understand man. I don't wanna bash or jump the gun either. That's a crazy flood, only once here in CT have a seen a flash flood where the wake approached the hood of my truck, it was bad, looking back I should have driven around it buy didn't realize how deep it was til I was in too far to back out. The car in front of me stalled out, I was lucky.
I know what you mean about how itll go away but not really, these are highly sensitive electrical components inside there. I'm sure they'll send you a new set based on the fogging alone, especially since you're running prototypes and testing for them. That's pretty cool you got to do that.

Did you get your lights about a week before the rest of us? You’re saying the ones being sold now aren’t the “release” versions?

This is the type of post I've been waiting for. The only thing stopping me from placing an order is the fact that I want to confirm no condensation gets in these headlights, thanks for sharing. I'm curious to see everyone else's experience with rain/car washes as well.

I received a set of healights that they were using for testing this whole time in TRS's shop. Hence probably very early versions, before they went full scale. Since yesterday, the moisture has dried up, so that's a plus. We'll see what the cutoff looks like tonight as when mositure dries on the inside of a lens, it tends to throw off the beam cutoff. It leaves an almost like film on the inside of the lamp. TRS is being very helpful in regards to willing to replace, so no worries there.

    More to come...

I ya haven’t ordere from trs yet. I called them about my order of fogs and asked about the headlights since they won’t let you order. But they told me they are expecting a shipment of 300 units for the Morimoto xb’s. So sounds like they are getting the second wave of units for ordering

Like I was saying .... never really 'goes away'. No rain, but 187% humidity. We'll see

Yup. Thanks for follow up. I hope they will take care of you and this isn't an across the board issue. I fully understand you have prototypes and the "production" lights could be sealed better.

I'll definitely do more investigating next week when I get back home and remove the headlights and see if I can find anything. Just sucks, b/c these headlamps are a head turner even with DRL off. Now I got this big birth mark on one of them

Comparison to other side, went through same weather

I really like the look of these headlights, but that water in the headlight issue is a big deal. Also, the error message you get on the screen after you install them is a problem. Any word back from morimoto on this?

Yes, actually this morning...they almost have the new harness ready and have updated their website reflecting the 'status' on 18+ OEM LED headlamps. They told me since these were hand-sealed prototypes, I will be receiving a replacement set. I definitely wouldn't worry about the moisture...that was some torrential f'n rain

He has prototype’s. They have a 5 year warranty vs 1yr of the oem’s. Everyone else is still waiting for the actual production line ones that are in the mail or just got them. I don’t have either one of these problems on mine

That sounds promising. Makes sense you had these issues if your truck was the tester.

I installed mine last night and have this exact problem. It's not a huge deal, but for $1200 I would absolutely expect them to fit perfectly and they're definitely not perfect.

Are those the pre production ones? Or are they the final version?
