Anybody have any products for monitoring their trailer cargo while driving? I mainly use a small utility trailer, and it'd be nice to have a monitor in the truck to see if things have shifted, etc. Something even as simple as a baby monitor/phone app or something??

Mount a go pro or similar device and control with your phone.

I've seen remote trailer back up cameras also, could mount them at different locations to view where you want?

I'm sure there are better options, just spit balling off the top of my head.

Look into RV cameras. Make them for any budget and sounds like what you are looking for. Can get a wireless set up for under a couple bills.

Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
Many, many options out there. I use this on my 2021 with the camera mounted on the rear of my travel trailer

It's connected to the running lights for power. The camera could be mounted on a post in the front of your trailer to monitor the load. Dohonest sells many different camera and monitors on Amazon. If your truck is newer with a backuo camera the anytime backup and front camera kit allows one to monitor the existing backup camera with the flip of a switch.

I'm in the process of building up my first set of video switch modules for use with the FRAC harness. (Wire harnesses are built, now building up the circuit boards). This module will connect with the FRAC to add a second camera to the rear camera input. One is the normal tailgate camera and the other can be a trailer rear view, or a trailer internal view like you are discussing, or a bed camera. Hope to have theses available on the website in the next couple of weeks.

I appreciate your efforts...but you know I've already added a video switch with the capability for 4 inputs!!
Will yours have a switch mountable in the cab?

Yes. I have an OEM-style Trailer Mode switch. Pics should be up on the website this weekend.

    Lou,
Any possibility this will "add-on" to my existing FRAC? Still one of my wife's favorite upgrades, especially with the F/R switch mounted on the console behind the shifter. Too bad you weren't offering the Toyota style switch then. BTW, you need to use a switch which lights when activated for the Navi functions....this way it's easy to see when it's active or inactive (wife occasionally leaves it on & then her Navi misbehaves). ;)
BEST customer service EVER, for other forum members reading this.

    JOTA,
The FRAC could be your best bet for this. It's pretty EZ to install in your dash...running your camera wires to toughest part...and reasonably inexpensive. Also, TundraTex install instructions & customer service are 2nd to none.

@102dalz YES! That's exactly what I designed it for. It will tie into the FRAC harness and allow you to select the "default" rear view that will be displayed whenever you shift into reverse or select the rear FRAC position.

Also, I am very close to making an OEM VIM Select switch available that will do just what you are requesting.

    Lou,
How does the "Trailer Video Kit" on the FRAC website install? I'd love to have some install instructions...I'm thinking this might be easier for switching to my "bumper" camera for towing, or MC carrying with tailgate in down position (although I see it's out of stock now)?
BTW, does the OEM front/rear switch have a "center" position like the rocker...to function in OEM fashion?

    Andy,

The Trailer Video Kit connects with the FRAC harness and adds an additional switch for trailer mode. I’m on the road this week but I’ll be posting up the instructions on the website this weekend. I received a few more parts so I can hopefully make more kits available this weekend as well. I had only six to start with and they sold out in about an hour. The parts delays are killin me!

Leer 100XR truck cap, 5100's on the middle setting. Ikon Add A leaf, Cooper Discover ATX3 275/70/18, Genuine Cooling Systems transmission cooler, chrome delete.
Are you planning on making any more of these? I have your FRAC harness, would love to add another camera input.

    Thanks!

That's on my to-do list. I've sold out of my first two batches and my original circuit board supplier is having distribution problems so I'm trying to get an alternate supplier lined up.

I haven't bought it yet, however this is what I'm replacing my bluetooth trailer backup camera with. It is wi-fi and uses a smartphone as the monitor. It will be like a rearview mirror once I install it.

    edit:
I must have done this wrong regarding the link. This is an Amazon link for a Last bus backup camera.
