06 dbl cab. Middle vents blow at maybe 1% compared to side vents. You can barely feel anything coming out. Windshield vents and rear vents all blow fine. Doesn’t matter which setting it’s on. Any thoughts?

Can u hear the blend door moving at all? I’d say blend door actuator. Not sure if Tundras are vacuum or cable, but your cable might be messed up.

In my 02 the vent piping behind the dash is fitted in pieces. Maybe the piping that goes to those vents came undone and air is blowing around in the back of the dash.

    :notsure:

Not sure what I’m even listening for, for the blend door actuator. I’ll do some more research. I’ve had the truck for three days.

I did remove the black center piece with vents and tried turning the air on, still nothing. Gotta be disconnected somewhere further down. Or the blend door actuator/vacuum/cable. One step at a time.

I'm pretty sure all the tundras are vaccum operated. You'll hear kinda like a thunk when changing the vent knob. That's the actuator.

After further inspection, turning the knob doesnt change the vent setting. It always blows from the side vents and dash. Does that point to blend door actuator?

Make sure your cables are hooked up and the slides lubed.

I think this is the problem. If everything is connected and lubed, is it the blend door actuator motor itself?

So there is not even a cable hooked up at all. Trying to locate its origin point and assuming it runs directly to the vent control switch. If it isnt there, where can I get the parts for it? Any thoughts?

Update: cable was there but not connected to actuator or to the vent control switch. Hooked the cable back up at both locations and now have air from all vents except defrost. Will not switch over to defrost at all. Thoughts?

Maybe it has a separate cable which is also disconnected?

Will not switch how? Like, physically won't go there, or goes but doesn't switch?

The knob turns, but doesn’t change the vent selection.

Maybe the Dial Mojo was off a few degrees when the cable was rehooked. Mojo might need a reset?

Could you move to defrost before you reattached the cable for the center vents?

No. It was just always on. Side vents and defrost.
