I started a FB Group “Mid Ohio Tundra Drivers” its a closed group page, but anyone from Ohio or across the globe can join. Mainly a way for us local drivers to maybe meet up for a drink, meal or a run. Not trying to take anything away from this forum group because I love it and you all are like family. If this can’t be posted here I understand. So if you have face book look for it...

Is this group searchable? I can't find it on the book of faces.

OK, Lisa and I fiiiiiiiiinaly moved to Columbus - drove straight through from Phoenix in 34 hours. We're currently staying in a hotel while we get shit all sorted out, but I have a question...

I went out to the truck and it won't start. Maybe the starter, I dunno.

Who knows a good service department and advisor at a dealership in Columbus who is comfortable with a slightly modified Tundra?

I'm tagging everyone I've seen that made an introduction from Ohio (just a simple search, you may not actually be from Ohio, but had it in your thread title) - maybe we can start our own BS thread and get together over beers and some wheeling if that's your thing. We love both.

Stoked to be here! Just wish it was under better circumstances that I'm tagging everyone in.

Well crap I am sorry to hear your truck will not start. I haven't dealt with any places in C-bus for my truck besides where I bought my RTT.
They had a lifted Tundra there that they had done some mods to. Were great to deal with for the RTT. Also walked around that Tundra and showed me some of the mods they had done! 20181015_173616.jpg
    Hope this helps some !
Beers and wheelin sound awesome !

    Thanks Denise!

This actually did help - I called them and asked what is a good dealership for service, and they recommended West Toyota here in C-bus. I called them and we have an appointment tomorrow. The lady I spoke with sounded really nice and she understood that our truck is lifted and they can work with that, so we're super stoked to see how it all works out!

Side note, 4 Wheel Parts is having an anniversary sale and event with activities this Saturday if anyone wants to go hang out. Sounds like it could be fun to go meetup, plus they're having a bunch of sales if anyone needs stuff. :D

For a non-dealership service business, the guy I bought my 1st gen from used the Firestone shop on Hilliard Rd, just a couple of miles North of the freeway. They printed out a good history of the previous 5 years of work they had done on it.

BTW, I drove from Columbus to Tucson in it in 2 days

Are you located in Columbus, or was the drive to Tucson a move?

Live in Tucson, born and raised in Zanesville, 50 miles down the road from Columbus. Was back for a class reunion, and bought a truck.

Anyone here into off road? Once we get a little settled, we’ll be looking for good places to wheel. I know it’s not gonna be like AZ with the wide open public lands, so I’m hoping to get some tips and suggestions from you guys and girls.

We’re willing to drive for a good trail, so anywhere in Ohio or the surrounding states is fair game.

Especially trails with room and permission to camp. Not like established campgrounds with bathrooms, but remote or primitive sites with no services or Prius owners clogging up the view.

Thanks! We’re stoked to be back.

    Hey guys and gals!

Here's a little update and another request for info/assistance...

Toyota West was awesome to work with and I highly recommend them if you need service in Columbus. They swapped the starter and then found an E85 issue. We're still troubleshooting the E85 thing - our truck was reading 70% alcohol content which is way high, especially since we haven't had E85 in it for years. So they reset it once and it jumped right back up to 70. We ran that tank of gas down and they reset it again. We drove around for a while and went back to have it read again (and reset if needed), and it read 0%. 0% alcohol content is pretty much impossible, so we'll be going back to have them pull some more data out of the computer and see what's going on.

Anyway, I'm looking for a place we can do some work on the truck ourselves. We're staying in a hotel for now, and we can't exactly be wrenching in their parking lot.

I'm just looking for someone with a garage we can pull the truck into and try to find a clunk in the front suspension. I have tools and everything - just need a dry spot to put the truck while I work on it for a couple hours.

    Thanks!

    Just seeing this !!!
Glad to hear about Toyota West !!!
I may take my truck there for a couple things.
Wish I could help you out with a garage. I squeeze mine into my brothers sometimes but he usually has something in there for body work.

    Thanks Denise!

We need to get a Columbus Tundras meetup in the books soon. Maybe reach out to the Tacos, Runners and FJs too.

I talked to the general manager at Toyota West about hosting an event for us in the future once we start to build a decent sized group, and they're totally into it. They do a lot of community support and charity stuff. Would be cool to pull together a raffle or something and a have a little truck show at their dealership.

Some pics from a recent one we did in AZ to collect bottled water for the homeless. I think we had around 150 Tundras.
