I originally posted another thread specifically about the coverage of the rear WeatherTech mat for my double cab. I didn't really question if I'd be going WeatherTech or another brand, just a question about whether the rear was worth getting or stick with stock. A lot of people brought up Husky liners, and after a lot of reading I decided I would try Husky, at least for the front.

Yesterday I came across a video comparison of several liners including Michelin Edgeliners. Can't find as many reviews, but seems like most people who have them seem to like them. They appear to be soft and more pliable similar to the Husky.

One thing that caught my eye about them though were the deep grooves in the liner, intended so water and mud doesn't sit up on top exposed. I run into this problem in the car more than the truck with my WeatherTechs. I use my car purely for commuting to work. In the winter, snow melts off my shoes and the WT liner catches it great. Unfortunately, it also leaves a puddle on the mat, and the back of my pant leg (mostly just right side) will droop into that puddle and gets soaked. Leaves salt stains too since that puddle will sometimes have salt in it. This is less of a problem in the truck as I'm sitting much higher up on the floor. But still, seems like a smart idea.

Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with them and what you thought?

I dont have them. I have weathertech cuz I got them for free. If I were buying new mats I'd probably get the Michelin. They look really nice and I have read good things about them.

Got them a week or so ago and finally put them in today. They seem pretty decent. They have a little more form to them than the OEM mats but way more flex than WeatherTechs. On both sides the Michelins give much better coverage over the door sill. On the driver's side the coverage actually isn't as good on the left under the e-brake pedal, but it's much better under the accelerator which is more important. On the passenger side, better coverage on the sides and back by the seat, but the OEM mats went substantially farther up in the front. I think the big groove reservoirs are going to be nice though in the winter.

Where did you order them from and how much? I have not decided which ones to order. My passagener side oem is not satisfactory folds up. But i do not think it is nessary to replace back seat floor mats.

I bought them from RealTruck.com. They were a little pricey at $159 shipped, but I thought I'd give them a shot.

These floor mats are on sale at realtruck.com for $80. Pretty good deal compare to Amazons at $150.

Holy smokes. That's a heck of a sale. I may call them tomorrow and see if I can get that retroactively applied.

They look sharp. Does the passenger side slide around like my WT?

I hopped in the passenger side to find out. I was able to slide it, but I had to make an intentional effort to do so. It didn't shift while just getting in. Can't say how it compares to a WT liner as I never had WT in my Tundra. But I've had WT mats in two other vehicles; these are more rubbery so I doubt they would slide as much as WT.

I'm thinking about Husky X-act contour. I am going to avoid weather tech because I read a lot of criticisms describing the material to be a harder more plastic type texture rather than the softer rubbery texture of Husky. I dont want the heels of my feet slipping around on the floor so I prefer a softer rubber feel which i hear the Huskies xact contours have.

They look good but I prefer my mats to go back more. Over the seat brackets.

I have an 07 Tundra I am looking to fit with mats. They don't offer the year as an option, curious what the difference is. Also, no rear mats?

My Tundra is a double cab and I rarely have anyone riding in the back seat, so I'm just going to stick with the OEM rear mat that came with the truck.

Thanks man gotta get some soon before snow
Wife hates the WT sliding around when she gets in/out and I don’t want to snag the carpet with some kind of fastener

I don’t think they make these anymore. Shame. They look good to me.

Still using the ones I posted about above.

I will say after a couple years of use, I can confirm the passenger side does slip forward. Wish they'd just put mat retainers on that side like on the driver's side.

I installed the Eagle Klaw mat retainers on my passenger side mats. They work well so far.

Don't get me wrong, I still like the mats I have.

If I ever replace them, I'll probably go with Husky.

The Eagle Klaw is an aftermarket retainer clip. Takes about 5 minutes to install and will keep the mat from sliding around just like on the driver side.
