Greetings all...First Tundra hunting...Trying to stay under 14ish...would love 4WD, but they arent easy to find...Gave up on Tacomas...found a 08, 2WD, DC, 4.7, frame checks out and bed is good, super clean and ok first owner, but second owner kept great service intervals and checks. miles..well 152k...I havent had a V8 truck in forever..driving it I cant tell if its the exhaust, or if its the rear end making noise? Man the truck is super nice looking, and Im pretty anal..any advice? ...oh, the price is at 12K...

See if you can run it to a service at Toyota and have them check it out.

They had the yota dealer next door check out the bed and frame and they said it was solid, good to go...I could probably pay them to run through it..or an indy..does the price seem out of line?

Spending a hundred now is cheaper than some mega bucks in a four weeks? If it checks out and as clean as it seems I reckon.? Price compare as many as you can find and see what is what. Like pricing comparable for houses?? Best of luck.

Welcome! if it is a 4.7 then it has a timing belt, a costly maintenance item. The 4.6 and 5.7 have chains.

Had it checked out by a local indy mechanic and they gave it a passing grade..needs brakes in 6 months or so, rear end making a little noise, but not too bad..Ill change out the fluid and see how it goes..what is the best to put in it?
