I spent some time looking at bed loading configurations for the upcoming trip. At Joon's suggestion, I think I'll keep the cooler as close to the tailgate as possible for easy access. Now it comes down to the other storage containers. It looks like the Plano trunks will fit nice and snug 3 wide across the bed. I need to decide if I want to buy a third one or get a bigger Rubbermaid or Sterilite container to wedge in there.

    A couple other things.
Sticking with my tradition of buying everything twice, I wasn't happy with the quality of the Smittybilt jerry can mounts, so I bought the Wavian mounts, pictured above.
Instead of actually installing the jerry can mounts, I decided to play with stickers instead.

I did the SCS one first thinking that I would have them all nice and neat and then I changed my mind and went for the random placement instead.

My mounts aren't installed yet, I just had them sitting in the bed. Check in @joonbug 's build thread, he might have details on how he mounted his.

@joonbug was nice enough to help me with a few installs yesterday.

    Jerry cans and d-rings.

Not pictured, Coachbuilder bumper spacers. I haven't tried to reinstall the liners yet, but my hope is that the spacers will give me enough room to get them back in even if they still have to be severely trimmed down.

somehow I'm just now tuning into this thread. Looks awesome dude!

I'm interested in your opinion of the Grabber X3s. You said loud and proud earlier - are they really that bad? We're considering them in 37s for Lisa's daily and I'd rather not get murdered or have my penis unceremoniously removed in the middle of the night.

I don't have very many miles on the X3s yet. I'll probably be able to give you a more educated response after the trip to Death Valley. Coming from the KO2, there is now a noticeable hum, but it isn't anything like some of the full on mud tires that I've heard trucks driving down the road on.

Do those add horsepower or time between stops for ice?

:notsure: That was on the weekend! I haven’t missed a day of work in 10 years with no vacations other than the week after Christmas and a few days wheeling. I may not do shit at work but I’m there.

T-slot nut and 3/8" bolt. You have to use a drill to make the hole in the quick fist large enough for the bolt to go through.

I think they need some testing. Like maybe in Death Valley?
