Magnuson Update Kit

I recently installed the SC and mine has some differences from a friend that did his about a year ago. They are both 2017 FFE engines. He’s had an issue with a “skip” at about 3/4 throttle. Based on the seat dyno the power is about the same.

Here are the differences between his and mine.

His has the Bullydog tuner mine has the HPTuner.

His has stock injectors mine has new larger injectors that came with my kit.

His has a pressure switch they call a VSV bypass. Mine does not and removes the relay.

We talked to Magnuson about the differences and found out there is an update kit available under warranty. The kit upgrades the injectors, removes the Bullydog tuner for the HPTuners. It also removes the pressure switch. We installed it last night and the “skip” problem he had is gone.

I wouldn’t say run out update if you aren’t having issues but there has to be a reason they’re updating it under warranty also.

 

Magnusson finally fixed it. That’s rad.

 

I called them and they said they already have a 19 tundra that they are working on. My bet is end of this year or mid next year. Stay subscribed to their email and for sure it will come soon.

 

I wonder if it's still carb legal

 

I don't see why it wouldn't be. The kit I just installed is CARB legal and the update brings previous versions up to the spec of the current kit.

 

They told me the same thing back in June when I was trying to get it installed on my 2019 pre-delivery
