Lysol spray

Northeast LEO looking to see if anyone knows of some secret spots to get Lysol. I would like to spray my cruiser and shoes down when I get home but shelves are cleared everywhere. Any and all help greatly appreciated!

 

Can you find any rubbing alcohol? I put that in a spray bottle and lightly mist everything myself. I work at a hospital and cancer center and we can't even get lysol....backorder for months. Did get 2 cases of rubbing alcohol and chlorox wipes with actual chlorox...at work through our supplier.

The minute they hit the shelves they’re gone. People eat it up. I still can’t get a hold of any toilet paper. I’m sure if I went down there early in the morning it might be there because they restock at night. Luckily we bought a large pack before this mess started. We are out of wipes but we do have two large bottles of rubbing alcohol from Costco. I keep it in a spray bottle. I’m glad I bought that a couple years ago.

 

costco been re-supplying pretty good here in SoCal and if you are LEO, Fire, health worker they let you cut the line.

 

I went two weeks ago to the one in Torrance. They had quite a few boxes of the wipes but they weren’t selling them to the public. They were wiping down the shopping carts with them.

 

If your interested I have a local distillery I can hit up for some. It won't be a spray but I bet if I ask I can get the pure liquid form and you could put it in a spray bottle. The distillery is very LEO friendly.

costcos in yorba linda, Corona, Moreno Valley have all been pretty well stocked with TP lately.

 

Can you get a hold of Everclear or moonshine?

 

@War_Wagon312 Make some bleach water. That's what I did for my crew. Industrial bleach 6% mix like 3oz per quart of water. Takes 10 minutes to kill virus just like Lysol. Anyway follow instructions on bottle. Not all bleach is same concentration.

 

I am also in the NE. If you have a local Walmart speak with manager. They should be able to hold a can or two for you in the back. I did that and they were more then happy to do it.

The only thing I've been able to find is Clorox bleach. I mix it with water and clean my trucks at work. It stinks and my clothes all have bleach spots. But hopefully it's killing the covid!

 

I have a few 1 gallon of 99.9% isopropyl alcohol, I make my own sanitizer, call around in your neighborhood hydroponic store, they should be able to get you some..my store sells it 1g or 5g..I would send you a gallon but shipping would probably be $$$..

 

OP I have some pine sol product that kills 99.99 percent of virus/bacteria. It takes 10 minutes to work. Essentially the same product as the Lysol concentrate. I’ve got one with your name on it if you want. For free. Otherwise I do have 2 cans of Lysol. I paid 40 dollars for them. 20 each off of eBay about 3 weeks ago. If you’re set on Lysol I’m willing to part with one but would want to be reimbursed. I can post the receipt so you know this is no funny business. I won’t make a dime. Let me know and I’ll get them sent this weekend. The pine sol says it makes 5 gallons. It’s a concentrate you mix yourself.

Yes, 70% required to kill viruses. The CDC recently changed their website to say 60% but that’s not what science supports. Don’t dilute it.

 

Call or visit some local janitorial suppliers. They usually have a decent supply of something on hand. You may pay $50-60/gallon for it but it should last awhile.

 

Gonna have to resort to that if people don’t smarten up.

For any sams club members

 

They have removed all Lysol wipes, sprays and similar products from our office too. We now use isogel and paper towel to wipe down surfaces.

They want to reserve the wipes for officers working in remote areas, who don't have access to hand washing with soap and water when in the field.

Doesn't explain why everyone and their dog needs them at home, when they should be staying home and have access to a sink with running water and soap. But does explain why some business may not be able to get them or why they can't be found in some office environments.

Costco has done that up here too for first responders and medical staff. Nice to see.

 

@Squatting Pigeon good call lion feelbleach needing to be used in 24 hours for top efficacy. I knew that at one time but forgot. Also, the dollar store sells small bottles of Lysol concentrate. Might be better so it doesn't need to be mixed everyday. Still cheap too!

 

just an FYI that Lysol spray is bad on your lungs. it kills not only the bad stuff on the surface but also the good stuff in your lungs that help fight infections.

not saying it doesn't work. just be careful of ingesting it into your lungs.
