Went to change my front brakes today and found that I do not have a socket to fit the lug nuts. The factory lug wrench doesn't even fit. I've had this happen on my 2014 F-150, apparently they are a 2 piece design that starts separating. I want to replace them with 1 piece Gorilla nuts. What size do these trucks take?

Also I would like some help on how to get the old ones off. On my F-150 I used the factory lug wrench and a couple taps with a hammer I was able to get them off. This is going to take a bit more persuasion. Is their a special tool or socket made for this?

As a side note I would appreciate some comments on what kind of jack do y'all use to lift y'all trucks at home. I have a 3 ton bottle jack but had to use a couple pieces of scrap wood to even get the wheel off the ground. I can make that work for my purposes but it's a huge pain in the butt.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Okay I found some gorilla nuts that are mag shank style. I have the black TSS wheels, are these correct?

Thank you. I ordered a set. Cheaper than they were on my F150. Also ordered a set of twist sockets to get the 2 I stripped off too. Maybe next week or week after to change my brakes. I'm glad I don't wait until the last minute for stuff like that lol

The crappy lug nuts are something I deal with on a daily basis at work. I just wonder what goes thru the engineers’ heads when they decide to use this type of nut, instead of the solid ones...

people really don’t want to hear that they need a new set of lug nuts for $200.00 for their Ford Escape.... much less $250 for their Ram or Toyota
