Lower control arm R&R. WIll the iner sleeve give me issues?

    Truck is an 07 but there is no corrosion underneath as it is a southern truck. Will I have issues removing the inner sleeves after I remove the cam bolts? Is there a trick to getting the sleeves out or will I need a special tool? Please let me know if you have done this.

    Nobody? I thought this repair would be a little more common. I dont really want to just change the balljoints as the bushings are now 14 years old and I am sure they are ready to be replaced also.

    I understand and thank you but my concern is getting the cam bolt sleeve out of the bushings to release the back of the control arms. I am hearing that they will seize so I am hoping to get someone's experience on this.

    ...but seriously. Are you talking about the cam bolts seizing within the bushings?

    Trying to understand (or remember) this sleve you refer to

    Yeah, just wondering if that is a certainty or my results may differ. Also, if they dont seize is it best to buy new or reuse. Just kinda wondering what to expect.

    6 inch lift, ADS suspension, Alcan custom rear springs, 46 gallon metal gas tank, Full Line-x body, Wheels with 35's, Smittybilt bumpers front and rear, 10k warn winch, custom rack.
    So I had the issue with one cam sleeve stuck in the control arm. I tried to heat it up and nothing. I ended up just cutting it out. I was replacing the bushings on the control arm anyway so I didn't care. Went to Toyota and ordered a new cam sleeve. I live in the New Mexico but I take the truck all over and one side was fine and my driver side was stuck. When I started cutting all I saw was rust, it was bad the hole thing was rusted. It happens, I have seen post of people up north having a hell of a time trying to remove the lower control arm due to this issue.

    Yikes. I hope OP's are friendly.

    When I replaced my coilovers there was zero issue with the cam bolts... And thank you. I DO remember the sleeve which has the cam for the opposite side from the bolt now.

    If yours don't appear to be corroded, I doubt they will give you much trouble.

    FYI, I have not heard good things about aftermarket cam kits, should you have to have to cut things apart.

    This kinda makes me feel like I should have used a bit of anti-seize when I reassembled mine. Oh well.

    If you need cam hardware OEM is the best

    aftermarket won’t hold the torque specs

    Trying to find part numbers for all the cam bolt pieces is proving difficult but i will get it done.

    I would call a helpful parts department and double check these numbers for your vehicle

    You’ll need 2 of each part

    1 for each side

    As info, started this yesterday. Passenger side came out without any issue at all. SHould have this side buttoned up today but my toque wrench doesnt go to 206lbs for the lower bolts. Also, is there a link to all the torque specs?
